I read that the 308 piece is better cuz it has laser etch and the stamping. Does it ever go on sale for prices like this one?

I shall report back once it arrives. Got the shipping email just now, so it will be a few days.

Arrived yesterday. UPS guy was shocked, as the box weighed over 60lbs, and he wasn't expecting that from a box on the top shelf of his truck! My UPS driver is a pretty noticeable guy - wherever a Circle K is, he'll be there filling up his 128oz thirstbuster!

So, COO: All USA made, stamped and etched.

But I got a bonus from the oh so awesome Sears picking and shipping department. Pic attached :lol_hitti

I'm happy with my set, but they started getting surface rust on them pretty quickly in my garage. Was a little upset but just cleaned them up and put some rem oil on them.

Yup, they rust pretty easily if not oiled. Warning to all- mine lasted a little over a year before they started rusting (surface rust). Wasn't too happy because even HF sockets have better chrome.... but they cleaned up well at least.

So... put a light coat of oil on them to protect them!

How do you really expect them to pack a bunch of sockets?

Although, my set, and all of the other Cman tool sets I've seen, come divided into bags that have little rhyme or reason to what is in them.

Hah, mine lasted like 3 weeks before they started rusting, it certainly was a PITA to clean 300 sockets, I contemplated returning them. Still do haha.

Yeah mine came in several different bags, some were logical, some were not lol.

I guess I am fortunate then I have had no problem with surface rust. I oil mine every ounce in a great while, but I really haven't had a problem with rust.

I oil the impact sockets more often, bc they are not chromed.

This is how smaller sets have come before.

Yep, they did come in several bags. But think about it. 60lbs of sockets rattling around in plastic baggies..... How far do you think they got before the bags had holes? I'll bet as soon as the Sears employee got done throwing in my free tube of lipstick, sealed it up with copious amounts of packing tape, and kicked it down the stairs to the loading dock - those bags had holes in them.

Nearly every socket was out of those bags in a giant blob of sockety goodness by the time UPS got done fondling my box.

And by the way, the set I received has a lot of issues after I sat down and began to sort. So far several are missing, got a few dupes, and an oddball one that is etched right over the stamp. I'll be calling Sears to rectify once it's totally done being sorted and I know what is missing....

I'm imagining an aisle in the Sears distribution center lined with giant bins filled to the brim with loose sockets and a minimum wage worker picking and bagging them all the while contemplating how ****** his job is.

In addition to the free lipstick I got, there were also about a half dozen sunflower seed shells in the box. So not only are they complaining about their jobs, they are doing it with their mouths full.

That Florida humidity is brutal on tools regardless when left in non climate control garage. I remember clearing out my deceased grandfathers tools in his garage down in Florida and everything regardless of brand to include his Craftsman stuff had a fine peppered rust layer forming on everything.

Got my set in. Missing 5 sockets and 3 are duplicates and 1 has the etching backwards. Yes, they were USA.

Nearly same for me.

Missing 4, 2 dupes, and 1 pretty bad etching right over the stamping, so it is impossible to read. Will be contacting Sears to send me the missing ones and replace the stamped defect one.

Yeah, mine fortunately wasn't missing any, but I had 3 that didn't have any laser etching at all.

Guys, for you who have received your sets and are missing some, is there like a manifest that comes in the box with them?
