where are you guys ordering the fluorescent light from?

Sears.com for me. Came from a store about 6 hours away (I've noticed Sears just tells other stores to ship things now, which is kinda smart IMO), and they charged me $3.00 shipping via UPS. I have to believe UPS doesn't ship anything for so little, but I'm not complaining.

Same here. Got everything from Sears except the power supply. I got it from eBay.

Can anybody compare either of these lights to DeWalt 12V Max one?

I already have batteries for that one and it is also reviewed highly.

I have a personal policy of not touching Dewalt, so I can't compare. I will say the Craftsman fluorescent has a 1 year warranty, while I'm guessing the Milwuakee LED stick light would be lifetime, or at least 5 years. Craftsman claims 1.5 hours run time, while I bet the Milwaukee, being LED, would be at least 3x that. Add an XC battery to the mix (and I'm not aware of any XC batts for the Craftsman Nextec line) and I bet the Milwaukee would go longer than most of us are awake in a given day. Also the fluorescent is more likely to break a bulb if dropped I should think.

Point being there are some reasons to justify the $80 cost of the Milwaukee vs the $30 cost of the Craftsman. Still, 80 damn bucks..........

I purchased these items because they became worth it to me when the price dropped. I would not have bought them at regular price because I have dedicated myself to Dewalt and have most of that line of tools in some form or another already. I did need the right angle impact though and figured I'd put the batteries to work with some of the other accessories. You can never have to many lights!

I have a Dewalt incandescent work light for 18V XRP batteries. Its the one with the swivel head and I upgraded to the LED assembly. Been very happy with the power and runtime. That's as close as I can come to commenting on the light you posted.

I bought a second Nextec drill and ordered the power supply from Amazon. I guess I will buy the two lights next. I wonder when all this spending will end!

I have the exact same reasons, except insert Milwaukee for Dewalt. And Milwaukee never made a RAID for the M12 line. Plus while I was wishing, hoping and emailing Milwaukee for a stick light (while they were simultaneously developing one apparently), this Nextec fluorescent is far easier to get into at $30.

And as for the lights, I TOTALLY agree. Hell just the other day I bought the Ryobi Tek4 led "utility" light at HD 'cause it was only $15 and I'm (somehow) into the Tek4 platform a little bit after the sales on the laser level and distance measure.

I basically did the same thing Saturday. I resisted the temptation the first time and then caved. And I actually already had 4 other Nextec tools.
So then I had 5 tools and four batteries. Actually, a good ratio. I showed the wife after ordering and then she mentions how much she likes the LED flashlight and would like to have one in the house. So when I picked up the driver I grabbed another light. I have three chargers now and 4 batteries to share with 6 tools so it worked out well :bounce:

I don't think mine is working right. It will run for a few seconds then stop and the light flashes . What am I doing wrong?

Typical Sears!

Order Approved! Will not allow free shipping..............

Set for local PU. Shows store has 10. Order confirmed. Email says come pick it up! Store calls 30 minutes later, they can't locate it!!!!!

Sounds like they sold all them to a single individual! Not the 1st time to have that happen at this store!!!

** Up Date ***

Suprise, got my Visa bill, and was billed for the tool. Called Sears, said I picked up the tool!

Drove over to Sears store last night and showed them the paperwork. They said it looked like it was delivered.

Asked to look at their log and see if it was picked up! Couldn't find my name in their log!

Then I played the VM Msg they left on my cell phone!

Received a credit to my CC!

Pays to watch the CC statements like a hawk!

Had a similar situation. I ordered the 100 piece drill bit set and impact on separate days. I go to pick them up and only one item comes up. I figure its on the same order. The guy comes out with the drill and no bit set. I say hey I'm missing one. he tells me there's no record of it. Then says I picked up. I tell him you're mistaken and he checks the system and it says the same. Long story short the guy ended up finding my order in the back. Makes me wonder if they're trying to scam the customer and system to keep the item to themselves.

Well mine lasted just over 2 months, using it probably 10 times for 10 minutes each. Seemed like the motor died. Even with a fresh battery, it would barely turn and had no torque (you could stop it with your hand). Quick trip to Sears and I had a whole kit replacement with no questions asked, besides "How the hell did you get this so cheap?!?!".

I think I need to take mine back..thing has no torque at all. Never has.

***** to hear, I actually grabbed an extended warranty on this, If it breaks with the first two years it gets replaces, after the second year they refund me my money, and this does cover the battery as well.

But mine is holding on strong! Used it dozens of times going good.

That florescent light may be the best thing for the money I have ever purchased. It is very bright and attaches with the magnets or hook. Great product.

Amen. I grabbed the tire inflator too awhile back. It's been pretty consistently on sale for $34.88. I only tested it taking one 205/75/15 from 7 psi to 33psi and it worked fine. It's very light, I have to wonder how long it'll last. The digital gage was accurate, shut off at 33psi (preset by me) and according to my tire gage it was exactly 33 (some have reported the digital gage on the inflator reads high or low). Not a screaming deal but I'll carry it on road trips, can't hurt.

I'll second that. Great light, love the magnet, love that it doesn't turn over while laying on a flat surface, good battery life.

Highly recommended!

Oh and we've gone (car) camping twice with the fluorescent this summer. It's awesome to hang in the tent from the hook. Lights up the whole tent nicely, but the bugs love it so zip up first!

So I got my fluorescent light tonight. Wow, I'd say it's really nice. Bright enough you don't want to look directly at it or your eyes will flash. The hook seems handy and fairly sturdy (time will tell) and the magnets rock, much better than the magnets Milwaukee puts on the M12 lights.

Picked this light up yesterday for $15. This darn thing is so bright you cannot look at the "fuel gauge" without shielding the light.

This has turned into a worklight thread! Great! I just picked up two on Sat. because of all the recommendations. At $14.99 a piece at Sears outlet I think it's a great deal. Thanks everyone who steered me to these.

Now we just need a good deal on batteries. I always like to have enough for one in every tool, one sitting on the charger, and one extra just because.

Now that this has become the un-official light thread, the nextec fluorescent is on clearance at my local Sears for $19.97. I tried to get the display model as it had a battery in it, but the manager dug up one NIB from the tiny "clearance" area which is stuffed back in the woodworking area in my store. It shows as $26.99 online but was clearly labeled as clearance $19.97 in-store. Of course YMMV

I DID grab one of the Nextec batteries with the 6 LED's in the bottom of the battery as it's a novel idea if nothing else, but I got it for $9.99 after SYWR stuff I had on my account.

Hey if any of you guys are in Ohio they have the multi-purpose lights for 14.99 at the sears outlet brand new in box.

Also have the dremal nextec half off if you need a nextec battery or dremal you could justify buying both

So does that make the rotary tool $50? I've been waiting for the kit to go back to $29.99
