Thanks! I got my doors installed today after just an abysmal experience with the first vendor. They look nice and I will post more pics tomorrow! Overall I am very close. I ended up hiring an AC vendor and that is scheduled June 19th.

So we hit a bit of a snafu. We installed the 6" pipe on the downspouts and compacted everything in. Well we came outside after torrential downpours (Marco Island received 19" of rain in the passed 2 days) and the pipes are now 4" further down than when we set them! This has proven to be a big problem. We had to cut out the connection between my new parking pad and the garage floor. Also another problem we had was the door was going to be too short where the pad integrated with the garage floor. It was about 1" lower. So we are going to repour this section. Was supposed to happen Friday but we are doing it Monday.

I hung some plywood and a rack to hold my amplifier, UPS, Sonos, POE switch for my cameras and networking gear. Eventually I will install a comcast box for watching TV in here.

Here is the time lapse of the AC install. Unfortunately the gopro crapped out about 3 hours or so before they finished :(

I hung up two more ladder mounts and turned the other one around so the cord was closer to the wall based on a friends recommendation.

HEFF: don't feel like the lone ranger PB has GJ members pictures in a hostage situation and they want $399 per year to continue what they used to do for FREE. yep Free is only as good as what you pay for in this case even if you did have one of their annual fee no ad rates.

i stopped using PB about 4 years ago when they changed things from what i knew and liked and i logged on today to delete all my pictures and looks like i might have almost got a virus by clicking on a pop up's X so i'm also wondering if PB was HACKED cause they used to be a fair and great service that i would have willingly paid for years ago.

i've loved all your pictures and their are other options to continue and maybe post up the old ones if you've saved them to your laptop or if you can retrieve them from PB. if you need more help just ask. i use the paperclip to download up to 7 pictures per post directly to GJ's server so they will be on GJ even after i'm dead or as long as GJ has a site.

good luck and i've been loving the progress and want to congratulate you for taking on the battles to GET R DONE cause anybody that thinks building a quality building in a city is easy hasn't done it.

just curious cause i can't recall what you are going to use your new garage for or did you say? got any cool cabinets, racking, cars, machines or tools to post pictures of before you GET ORGANIZED please do show them.

cheers

Thanks for the encouragement. I just setup an account with Go Daddy and I am going to be in control of my own images. Enough of this relying on other people. I am willing to pay about $100 to have the images.

I collect John Deere tractors but I am looking to thin the herd a bit. I am down to 7 or so tractors from my high of 11. Hopefully I could sell 2 or 3 more but there are others I would never sell, like the one I grew up on.

I am going to order some saber cabinets I think and do up the workshop area under the mezzanine.

I have three or four inspections scheduled for Thursday after I get back from my july 4th trip. It is my rough AC which if it goes well will become also my Final AC. Also I have exotic vegetation, my impact doors for the overhead doors and finally my drainage plan.

Exciting as I will only have like 2 more inspections to get my CO!

Also the stone facade will start this week I hope although it is holiday...

I don't think imgur will let us host here because we have a classified section. At least thats what I thought I heard? The moderators / owners of this site didn't fight enough with imgur to fix that issue.

ALL: yep i've heard Imgur has issues on GJ too and all of these photo hosting sites might do exactly what Photobucket did once they get you hooked.

Hef: i had a GODaddy website for years and only used it for forwarding to company's website and email, but it always worked well. there are other methods you can choose and Google even has a hosting that my kids seem to like for their active web sites.

here's a thread i started and since a few other threads about PB were ongoing with a bunch of bitching and moaning i only am adding help links and information to this one. if you find something in it that helps great. if you have another option that works please post it on this thread and help others that have YEARS OF PICTURES IN HOSTAGE.

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=364709

cheers and best of luck with your final inspections and permit getting signed off.

I just downloaded everything from Photobucket and closed my account - screw those guys! Messing up all my threads.

I used to be in the hosting business. I don't love go daddy and the resources for my new site *****. I can't get the thumbnails to render properly. Very poor but it is cheap shared hosting.

HEFF: i'm not sure what's been going on with the technical side of GJ, but i was having issues this weekend too so if you are trying to just download pictures to GJ using the paperclip or one of the other methods try again cause i'm sure others besides me is looking forward to updates.

best of luck with maybe restoring the old pictures as you have time. if you have a solution for pictures other than downloading directly to GJ just say so here and i'll post them on a thread i started or if you go in Free Parking and look up my Photobucket thread that has a few idiots on it talking about what they do or don't know please post your thoughts.

cheers and hope your weather stays dry for a while now.

I enjoy this thread and look forward to updates, it really looks like you have a little slice of heaven down there. It looks like a place I would vacation to.
If I may, some constructive criticism: your photography leaves something to be desired. The picture of the backyard is blurry and we have (two!) boring pictures of a forklift delivering materials. The column picture in #312 is dark and has a reflection. I'm no expert like Gregor, but I think if you followed a few basic rules you could improve the following on this thread dramatically.
I really do enjoy following along and hope you take this in the spirit in which it's intended.

Tons of water! We are going to sink a drywell with a pump and hook up some feeder boxes. I'll work on some better pics. I snap them quick with my phone. The guys don't love being photographed they think I'm suspicious with I photo something. The below pic was supplied by the contractor since I am still away. If you want a pic of something just ask and I will do my best. I'm still mad at photobucket and will work to update the previous pics!

Got home late last night. The ledge is on the left side and a lot of the stone on the right

I also thought I was ready to pick up my CO but I called the county today and as it turns out I have an issue with the final elevation certificate - well I need one. Why I don't know because its not like the building moved after the slab was laid down! Anyway I have to get a final so thats scheduled hopefully for end of this week and then I should be golden.

I hired a company to do my epoxy. I couldn't do it and I wasn't going to hire it out to novices for the savings. I want it done right. Once that is done I will be good to go with some big projects like my steps upstairs and railings all around!

Here are some pics I found of the building just after my fan was installed and the garage doors were installed:
