Found out the fuel line on the 430 was busted and leaking all over the floor hence the stench. It is strong and the floor was covered in slick diesel. I got some sweep absorb stuff but I don't think that works with diesel...

Nah I guess I gotta use it :) Upset about the stench. I sold another tractor (well the guy is coming back tomorrow) so that is exciting and less stuff I need to stuff in there. The question is if I want to eliminate the 430 which is diesel and kinda stinky (right now a lot stinky).

I still have to figure out my cabinets. I've been getting quotes for several different options but none check all the boxes unfortunately. Looking for suggestions and would prefer BLUE

We did the window jambs today for the first cedar post up for the railing on the mezzanine and hung some boxes in the kitchenette.

Thanks! It worked out well since we S hooked it right to the unistrut holding up the duct work and that stuff is really adjustable so we could manipulate it where we wanted.

Wire for the railings just showed up and my guys are coming back later next week. We have something cool planned for the gate. We are going to roll it like a cantilever / barn door style rather than swing. We are all pretty excited for it! Should be cool and clever.

Got a new step ladder mount on the wall. Works quite well. Very surprised!
Highly recommend this style based on my trial. I'll get another to see if my podium ladder will work with it.

I am looking for some form of mounting a wall mount pipe / rod / lumber rack on the back of my building to store some pipe. I have a lot of pvc pipe (irrigation repair pieces and electrical PVC). I think that stuff is pretty ok to hang out outside and I don't have a lot of wall space and would love to stand it up if possible. I have been looking at various options to clean up what I have. Looking for any suggestions!

Moved some stuff in today. Very excited. My diesel John Deere made the entire place smell like a real garage. Not sure how I feel about it. This pic is overlooking the floor from the mezzanine.

We added two lights over the bathroom storage area. These lights are amazing and I think if I have any regrets it's that I didn't use the fake fluorescent style lights everywhere instead of the high bays. Probably a big mistake.

This is an older pic without the lights. Night and day difference quite literally.

White board roll up magnet on back of man door. This will be useful for making lists! I need to clean up the top and bottom edges they were cut by someone without a square. And I will obviously center better to help my OCD

I considered that or chalkboard paint. This was pretty easy to deal with. I have been trying to frost / obscure my windows in my bathroom in the garage for weeks with lots of issues. I think I nailed it today. I first used a film and it looked BAD with bubbles that never settled or went away. Then I tried a product from Valspar and that let very white spots almost like you could see where the first spray was started. I acetoned that off and tried the rustoleum product with practically the same results. I bought one of those gun attachments for the spray can thinking it would make it a bit easier and I think it did help today. I sprayed and sprayed and sprayed. When I saw a white spot I kept hitting it until it turned clear! I am waiting for it to dry and I will try to post updated pics!
Thanks for watching!

Love those railings. Just normal 4" steel mesh?

What's up with the unistrut along the top?

Its a 3" mesh. I bought it from McNichols. They were very helpful. It has a little brown surface rust - but no big deal. didn't think it was worth stainless or galvanized! The gates are cantilever not swing. Very nifty how it worked out!

Here is the gate in use which is what the unistrut is for. Instead of a swing gate I can push the gate to the side cantilever style and if I don't need it super wide I can make it just as wide as my lift. If I use the lift to put something larger up I can slide it wide open and push it off the top of the lift. Offers the most versatility and take up NO room in my mezzanine with a swinging gate as well!

Cool! It's an awesome building. I'm having a great time setting it up and figuring it all out!

I installed a new tv for watching tv and watching my cameras!

If anyone is following this and wants to learn some lessons from my choices here's another nugget: don't install the high bay lights. My side walls are 16 foot tall so not super tall. I used four high bays in the 40x40 section and thought they were dim. Over the bathroom we made storage and it was dark. I bought another 4 pack of lights and installed the two over the bathroom. With two extra we put them in the same bay next to the high bays (first pic) and man they are so much brighter. 70w vs 150w. All hyperikon lights. The high bays are expensive at nearly $200 a piece where four of the vapors they call them are like $230. A much better deal for the actual light. In ordering four more. I don't think we will take down the high bays but perhaps (they kinda aren't that good)

Rats! Hope the water inside does not cause too much a problem.

I've been wondering how the FL members weathered the storm. Hope that's all the damage you have to deal with and it gets repaired quickly.

Thanks! I tried to get someone to go up there and spray some flexseal on the hole (im told it is small) just as a patch but he couldn't get the to the hole because the tree is so big. Its hard to find people to even cut back trees. Basically every tree that isnt a palm is laying down!

This is one of the problems with spray foam. There is no way to dry out the water trapped in the foam. Replacing the damaged sheets will be difficult.

Fortunately the puncture blew away a piece of the foam and it looks to be draining straight down. I plan on scabbing over the puncture with a piece that almost no one will see if it works.

Tree removal started today! A lot of people came out and wanted crazy crazy money! A tree is never more expensive to remove than after a storm when its laying on a structure. People from Georgia, Texas and Connecticut are in my neighborhood doing work. Big dollars to be had! Fortunately my contractor who built my house a long time ago and I have a good relationship with is doing much of the work for an hourly rate and he is super fair! Hope to have clean pics of the aftermath soon!

heffneil, Banyan trees are the bane of our Florida life. A small storm tipped the one in my back yard but it didn't come down. It tipped because the power company cut the back half off. Now I just pay to have it trimmed because the neighbor who owns the rental next door doesn't want it cut down (she thinks they are wonderful). Trimming a third of a tree seems pretty stupid but it's what we do.

Good to see you only suffered minor roof damage and I look forward to your repair.

I was cutting damaged branches from the Hong Kong Orchid in the front yard and had the two that appeared to be in danger of falling on someone on the ground when a guy showed up and offered to finish the job. He was local, licensed and insured and finished hat-racking the tree and cleaning up the mess for $250. Sometimes it makes sense to just pay (just wish he showed up three hours earlier).

Someone sent the Later Day Saints to my house today and an army of 40 people showed up and cleaned up my yard! The "professionals" they kept working on the banyan today. Ill try to post more pictures but after cutting almost everything off except a 12 foot tall wide stump I was listening and heard some lizards running around. Suddenly the tree just fell back in to place! I don't know what to do with it now!
