Sad, sad day around here today. The neighbor had to make the call with their 15y/o blonde Lab "Boomer". They moved in with a couple young kids and got Boomer soon after, 15 years ago. Good Boy has "raised" two great kids over there and was just starting to meet their grand kids. At the time they moved in, we had a black Lab "Buddy". The two of them were best buds for a few years until our Lab headed to the rainbow himself in 2012
I adopted our current black Doberman/Lab mix (in the images here) later in 2012. Our boy and their blonde have been inseparable ever since. I've posted pics of these two before here. Hurts just like one of my own.
First shot is from today when we headed over before the vet arrived. They had one more romp around the yard and field, but ol' Boomer just couldn't manage. Back legs were done. He was doped up good and not in any pain, but ya knew. So did my boy, he knew. The other shots posted are from his daily visits over here every morning looking for his buddy to go play.
Sorry to ramble, but taking a break from working on a little digital memorial for their boy.
