Hi,
The New Age flooring looks like an interesting and good quality product for certain applications, but we have had a number of clients try to use it but the New Age is not flexible to allow for floors that are not very level we have been told, or may have compound pitches towards drains as they won't flex to confirm.

These customers that contacted us had to return the New Age material and ended up purchasing our www.supratile.com since the Supratile is more flexble and forgiving on floors that are not laser flat.

We are not saying that the New Age is a bad product, it actually looks quite nice good quality, and samples we received confirmed that, just that we have had reports that it has installation limitations so we wanted to share that so as to avoid any headaches.

Number of clients...as in how many? I’m the only one who has posted. ********...post all your clients images.

Without a doubt....sloped, drainage...stone doesn’t contour. So, in other words, no ****.

Dr.99,

Did you have any expansion joints in your garage? If so, how did you handle them? I've read and reread every thread on here regarding porcelain tile, but my garage floor has an inordinate amount them (I believe). To "honor" them all would be awkward and visually unapplealing. If I can just grind them level (they stick up slightly) and fill them this might be the way to go.

Thanks,
Chris V.

I just happened to be browsing on the Costco website and came across this tile - they had a sample for $1 delivered, so I said what the heck and ordered it

The sample came today, small piece 9" x 6" but I have to say I am really impressed with the weight and feel of this product. DR99 - your floor looks great, it's been about 2 months - any updates?

Still loving it. Looks great, sweeps out easy. Haven't had any chips or cracks. There's a couple of spots I'd like to extend their wall version when it comes out. Obviously haven't faced winter yet, but I don't anticipate any challenges.

I don't think I have true expansion joints. There were some control joints that I was able to just tile over. I left gaps on the sides and used their aluminum trim to cover them.

do you have anything 'holding' the floor in place in one spot? I have a 1,500 lb machine with 4 legs and I was wondering if there is much thermal expansion - and would something like that cause problems

I ordered another kit directly from NewAge, but so far it really looks promising. I was never one to consider some sort of epoxy type flooring but this looks like it may really work out. thanks for the info

I went ahead and ordered the 600 sq ft package from Costco today. Trying to deal with NewAge was terrible and the Costco price ended up being better than what they were offering. Best thing about buying from Costco, and I confirmed this before ordering - this flooring falls under the Costco 'satisfaction guarantee', so if it is not holding up, even a couple years from now, it will be going back...

The 600 sq ft Costco packages includes (2) twenty foot thresh holds and (3) bundles of aluminum end caps. Each bundle contains (10), 46" long pieces.

NewAge wants $191 for (1) bundle of end caps and $99 for (1) threshold. If you add up what Costco includes (3 x $191 plus 2 x $99) it comes to $771 and if you subtract that from the package price of $2,800 that leaves $2,029 just for the flooring which works out to be about $3.38 per square foot.

In any case, the $2,800 seemed to be a reasonable price for what you get and you can't beat that Costco guarantee

Wish I would've known about the costco deal. I just finished installing the titanium tiles over this past weekend. I will be putting together a full remodel post, but when I have some time I'll post up some finished photos here. I did order two of the thresholds, and did not order the end caps, figuring I'd figure out what I need later. The price seemed too big, and they weren't getting rave reviews for what they were.

To be honest, I was not very impressed trying to deal directly with NewAge. The rubber thresholds for example. They only sell them in a 20' length. How hard would it be to just cut a couple of them up and also sell a 10' length (I have a 3 stall garage which is pretty common in my area). NewAge also has a 'sampling program' if you buy directly from them. They were going to comp me two bundles of endcaps if I wrote a short review for them - you should ask about it. As I recall it was going to cut $287 of the bill

I am looking forward to your review. My order just shipped so I have a couple of weeks before it gets here. One of my problems is how to deal with the threshold at my garage door. The door comes down right at the edge of the garage slab and then the concrete outside is about 3/8" lower.

In other news I priced out the Newage flooring for my 405sqft garage and it came out to around $1800 which is only about $700 more than a nice epoxy coating except without the ridiculous amount of prep I would need to do. I am considering it.. my only concern is I have different grade slabs in the garage so the vertical surfaces need to be covered in something..

I received a Newage sample. It is high quality. I need to look at other composite options but the sample was promising. Costco.com carries the Newage flooring.

My thresholds came to just under the garage door, you actually don't see mine from the outside except for a tiny sliver flush with the front of the garage door. So if your slab drops somewhere in front of your door, you will probably be good.

Pictures coming soon!

I received my samples a few weeks ago. They do look pretty darn good for a vinyl composite. My concern was and still is durability. How has the decorative top layer held up?

A member of a Facebook group I'm on did a little home testing on the samples. Said it took a 5 foot drop of a hammer to make a small dent. Good sign. But the concerning finding though was turning a car tire on an individual tile which caused the top layer to peel off. While this may not be an accurate test of a fully installed floor, it was concerning.

I had my car up on jack stands doing dome maintenance when my sample piece was delivered. It was just big enough to place under a jack stand and after a couple of days when I pulled the stands there were some small dents which could have easily been prevented by using a small piece of plywood

But, one of the main factors in my decision to buy was -> COSTCO. I said it before, if it does not hold up, even a couple of years down the road I am going to utilize the Costco '100% satisfaction guarantee'.

Is there a time limit on the return policy? I couldn’t find any mention on the Costco website.
I calculated the price for what I need on New Age vs Costco and the differential is only about $200 more with Costco. Maybe worth it to deal with them vs New Age if there’s an issue

No - satisfaction is 100% guaranteed. Let your conscious be your guide. (Since this is a fairly new product, I called Costco to specifically ask)

I am surprised that if you actually price out what Costco includes in their package that they are more expensive than NewAge direct?

Lastly, I ordered on the 6th and it is supposed to be delivered today, the 14th - (pretty quick, considering)

Just delivered. This is the 600 square foot package from Costco. (45) boxes of floor tiles, (3) bundles of aluminum end caps and (2) 20' thresholds. With tax and free shipping the total came to $3,017 and all I need at this point is some silicone to glue the threshold down. Nicely packaged and they placed it in the garage for me.

im going to hit up New Age and ask them to send me some end caps for free. i mean, after the 55 boxes of flooring, 3 sets of pro cabinets and a separate pro cabinet (17 cabinets in total), I think I have spent enough money to get something for free.

Ya - that is a lot of $$$$

Just ask about the 'sampling program', I wouldn't think it would be an issue either way

Hmm I may be next guinea pig here. Same price as the swisstrax but not their tile/faux wood line. All these seem to be fine with a 4 post and none do well with a jack stand with edges. I think im going to do it.

Maiku, I was hoping that I could just walk into a flooring place and purchase an equivalent, but cheaper product just to be told nothing in the store can be put a vehicle upon. I assume you have already installed it and used it for a few months (years?) already. What's the verdict? How is it holding up, and do you think it was worth they premium price for it?

Looks like Costco is going to have $200 off of their NewAge Flooring effective 8-27-20 to 9-22-20. Another reason to buy from Costco is they have 30 day price adjustment for purchases from their website - so I should be able to get the discount also

Costco Price Adjustment:
https://customerservice.costco.com/...id/628/~/price-adjustment---costco.com-orders

Not a Costco Member? Groupon has a deal right now, 1 year membership for $60, you get a $40 gift card and $40 off online - so you would be making $20 to join.

No, it's been too hot. Over 100 for the last week or so and it looks like the same for at least another week. I stacked everything off to the side out of the way for now, so it may be a while until I actually get around to doing it

Actually when I start, I am going to ask for suggestions on how to deal with the threshold. My garage door comes down right at the edge of the garage floor slab and then outside it drops down about 3/8". Not sure which is the best way to go

If it can hold up long term vehicle pulling in and out and parking on it I sure would be interested in it. I have a detached 1000 sq/ft garage I would love to do the floor in. The house garage I did porcelain tile and its amazing but 4-5 times more expensive then this product would be as I can install this stuff myself. Other option I would love is Epoxy but I dont have and barrier or insulation under my slab which can be problematic and find a reliable contractor around here that does it is not easy.

I am still in the cabinet install phase, so no parking on it yet. I understood I was taking a little bit of a risk with the product having little real-world testing, but am hopeful that it will be as good as epoxy or racedeck or something similar. Epoxy doesn't stand up to welding, nor does racedeck, so I am not expecting this to be any better there. Epoxy has been known to peel up with hot tires, so hopefully this will do better than that. Racedeck has been known to expand and contract when hot, which I hope this is more stable (definitely seems so). Racedeck also has that "clacky" sound when you walk on it, and this stuff is silent, so win there.

I have been dragging stuff around on this stuff while install cabinets (albeit being somewhat careful), and I can't even see a single scratch any where. Time will tell, and I will be sure to post real updates.

Hey everyone, I've had a pallet of this stuff sitting at my place for months now, the garage was filled with trash and i needed to get rid of everything and have it fully empty, then i discovered that the floor was horrendously misleveled with certain areas 3 inches higher than other areas directly parallel. Anyways garage is now 90% empty and concrete has been grinded. I was wondering for those of you who've installed, how did you guys handle the parts where the tile meets the wall? My walls are pretty rough and also not the most even and is more rounded in the area rather than a perfect 90 degree angle. I also have to contend with this 8" lip towards the back of the garage. Any tips would be appreciated.

I did just receive the NewAge end caps, as my wall curb is also kind of a mess, and I think it will do nicely against it. When I install them, I will post some photos.

Looks like the changed the sale price on this flooring from Costco. It's not not $200 off - its
$400 off! valid 8/27/20 through 9/22/20. While supplies last.

400 sq ft package = $1,600 (30) cartons, (1) 20' Threshold, (20) end caps
600 sq ft package = $2,400 (45) cartons, (3) 20' Threshold, (30) end caps

Hopped on this immediately when I saw the $400 off price in my email this morning. I'm in the Chicagoland area- very wet winters here- my primary concern is how well this stuff will do when my snow-covered cars are brought into the garage and it all melts off. Gotta love Costco for this, though- if I learn it ***** after a year or two, I can just go get my money back.

Had to order some extra tiles direct from NewAge- my garage is closer to 680sf. All-in, including tax and shipping, I'm a few bucks under $3k. Pretty excited to see how this stuff goes in- my garage looks horrendous right now (a very bad epoxy job was done on the floor previously) and laying this stuff right on top will be lightyears easier than attempting to prep the surface for any sort of paint/epoxy.

They're not laser-flat all the way across the garage... we do have a couple of small depressions where water does puddle up. They're very minor, though- a dip of no more than 2-3mm over the span of like 6-8 feet- not enough to cause issues with how the tiles securely interlock, but enough to cause puddles. I don't mind squeegeeing the water out after it melts, I just don't want it seeping underneath the tiles.

I wonder if I should think about just mixing up a bag or two of leveling cement and bringing those depressions up to the same height as their surrounding areas. That wouldn't be hard to do at all, I did that on the subfloor in my kitchen when I re-tiled it, and this should be even easier. Hmmm. I don't know that it would truly alleviate my concerns, but it may help.
