As my new temp sensors are temp only(hit buy it now on the wrong item) I picked up a handheld RH meter. Now I can check the kiln, and the sheds, as well as the garage. Maybe next time I’ll get everything in one system

I post vids to YouTube so I can post a link on GJ. Not to gain views on YT.

Usually with no title or description, like the last one with the linear slides.

Where I might get a dozen views off GJ, I usually get considerably more on YT.

If I do post it with a title/description. I get like 12 views.

Hand held, no way.

This will be mounted. I’m considering adding weight to help with any uplift.

Rounded to the nearest mph. For reference a .45 ACP bullet is going around 550mph

Mine’s a 3” bit.

I remember years ago when I was a young finish carpenter, a little brass insert came out of an expansion slot and hit a coworker on the inside of his elbow. Right next to his artery. Required surgery to remove it.

Not sure if anyone still makes blades with inserts.

Aren't you supposed to run those bigger bits at slower speeds? That one at 20K rpm scares me and I will stay inside on the day you fire that up and I'm 60 miles away from you.

My SIL flattened a big piece of sapelle-African mahogany (thinking 36"x84") with a rig like you're setting up. He didn't have any problems. Just don't try to hog off too much at once.

I’ll be starting off at low speed, removing very little material. Then find the sweet spot for depth of cut/RPMs/feed-rate.

I’m familiar with full sized shapers, and these big router bits concern me more than the big shaper cutters.

I just got a Amazon delivery- 500 assorted threaded inserts. And a big-*** 16" Rivnut tool, the little handheld 5" Astro tool was struggling with 1/4" inserts.

Triton has taken over where Porter Cable left off with these 3-1/4 horse routers. Supposedly, they’ve fixed the electronic feedback issues and upgraded the bearings. We’ll see.

Was going to say looks a lot like the old Porter Cables.

I'm clinging to my collection of 690s, but really should get something bigger for the table.

Made another step in the right direction tonight.

Made a last minute call as I was about to mount the router to the acrylic plate. Decided to clock it 45 degrees. Thinking it’ll balance the side-to-side with the end-to-end movements. Also didn’t care for the power cord sticking straight at me. Easy to change if I don’t like it.

Ain’t getting my fingers anywhere near that thing!

Table is 12’ long, but the rails hang over another foot at each end. That gives me 12’ of useable length. Not sure about max width yet. Table is 42” wide, but the hardware takes away some inches

Slowly making some progress on the dust collection system for the router sled/table.

Life throws you way too much silliness sometimes.

Still figuring out what it’s going to take to be able to do this in the garage. If it fails I’ll have a plan B to set up a roller system on the mill rails.

Tonight’s fun little project.

I needed more outlet capacity on the ceiling above the router table. Added this double sided box. Kinda tight quarters for the wires inside there

Now I have room for both garage door openers, the router table, and a bug light

I hate ceiling outlets that point down, leaving dangling cords. Now my cords can be secured to the ceiling, nice and straight and clean.

At least, after I finish the drywall and paint

Also added a retractable cord reel above the router table.

Anyone else “All about cord management “?
