Fixed it for yaI'll see your hot glue and raise you a flaming t-shirt from a 4.5" cutoff wheel on 1/2" steel, in flip-flops
I’ll be wearing mine the first time this thing hits 21,000 RPM
Nope.I’ll be wearing mine the first time this thing hits 21,000 RPM
Thinking I might use some loctite on those screws holding the carbide on.
Hand held, no way.Nope.
I can't imagine running that in a handheld router.
Years ago I had a need for a custom bit, with very unique geometry. I also had connections in the machine tool industry and the ability to braze and grind carbides.
Life gets interesting at 20k+ RPM. I chickened out
Diameter?Maybe one of ya smart people could Calc the speed of shrapnel coming off a bit turning 21,000 RPM
Mine’s a 3” bit.Diameter?
Edit: 187mph for a 3" bit, 125mph for a 2".
Rounded to the nearest mph. For reference a .45 ACP bullet is going around 550mph

Bingo.Aren't you supposed to run those bigger bits at slower speeds? That one at 20K rpm scares me and I will stay inside on the day you fire that up and I'm 60 miles away from you.![]()
Triton has taken over where Porter Cable left off with these 3-1/4 horse routers. Supposedly, they’ve fixed the electronic feedback issues and upgraded the bearings. We’ll see.Never heard of that Riv. They any good? Well more importantly, what’s the HP rating![]()
But if you bring an Aussie router table across the equator, they point upRiv, that's an Aussie Router- designed to work down under your router table.
Was going to say looks a lot like the old Porter Cables.Triton has taken over where Porter Cable left off with these 3-1/4 horse routers.
They are completely compatible with all PC accessories/basesWas going to say looks a lot like the old Porter Cables.
I'm clinging to my collection of 690s, but really should get something bigger for the table.
Still haven’t plugged it in yetYou do realize there will be a momentary but perceptible stumble in the earths rotation when you switch that beast on, don't you?
Hope you post a video of that in action on a slab when you get going. How long is that table?Ain’t getting my fingers anywhere near that thing!Might have to give that a flick start with your finger to get it spinning.Hope you post a video of that in action on a slab when you get going. How long is that table?
My Husky was quite intrigued by the noise, giving the curiosity head tilts as you went back n forth.Slab flattener up and running![]()
