Not really at sears.com, but for some I think this is a good deal on some Craftsman tools...hope I don't get in trouble for this.

Craftsman fans...if you have not been to the Harry J Epstein web site yet you may want to check it out. Look under "Close Outs" and then search for CRAFTSMAN.

He's got 6 different pliers, the old "professional" red/black handles, that I have not seen on store shelves in years.

He'd also got the professional scratch awl for $6 !!!

http://www.harryepstein.com/index.p...detail=2606&close_out=9&manufacture_country=7

Of course I didn't need any of these....tracking shows delivery today. :)

Thank you for posting this... I had been looking for those red/black handled USA pliers for a long time. Plus I needed some of the screwdrivers to supplement my existing collection. Truly a good find!

Do I have to post an image of the clearance item? I got the 12oz version of those red rubber/yellow plastic hammers for $7.74. I thought that was a good enough price for me to jump on it. I've used it a few times already and I love it. It's great for hanging axes. I'll be on the lookout for the rest of the hammers..

That's the typical sale price.

That thing is a total *************, I wouldn't pay $5 for it

I had one, paid $50 for it. It couldn't remove a lug nut!

Are you sure you aren't talking about this one?

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-1-2i...sellerId=SEARS&prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2

That is the ultra cheap model and it truly does ****. The "heavy duty" one is a lot better, but there are still way better options out there (Harbor Freight Earthquake being the main one).

Yup, positive. I've had it for 6-7 years. I just bought the Milwaukee high torque impact to replace it and wish I would have done it much sooner.

I assume you mean surprise points as regular points aren't limited. If so I would say it depends on the terms of the surprise points. Typically surprise points that say they are good towards any purchase over X dollars work fine on Hot Buys and so do ones for tool purchases. Coupons on the other hand sometimes don't work on hot buys

The ball grip screwdrivers are now on hot buy for $2.50 each while they clear them out. Not sure I need another set...

If the pro hook and pic set is going on clearance I may just have to pick up another set to have in my shop box. I already have a set that lives in my service van tool set. I wonder what they will replace these with? They don't have anything else like it. These are reallyone of the shining stars of Craftsman tools. Real pro quality at a good price.

I take that back.. last week at HD I picked up a 2 pack of Crescent USA made flush cutter/plier set for like $13. The flush cutter looks similar to Xuron stuff. The package looked old, not sure if it's discontinued or not. I wasn't gonna buy it till I noticed that it was USA.

Edit: this set here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002Z9Y07I/?tag=atomicindus08-20

I just bought this same set last week. They are great for the money. I really only use the flush cutters to cut zip ties flush so a mechanic or anyone else doesnt cut their hands on sharp plastic ends after I put in the alarm or remote start. The needle nose can be handy when needed. I think these are current still USA made.

damn no stock in the local stores and not shipping off the website at this time. Guess I waited too long on those. I had the lisle kit before but lost it some time back too.

Drove an hour and a half each way just to find out the Sears Outlet in Shrewsbury, MA only sells appliances and riding mowers. Guess I should have called first and asked if they had tools there. What a waste of time. I guess I have zero options for good Sears deals around here, other than a few here and there in the mall stores.

I walked in and it was like a sea of refrigerators...
They did have the corded bolt-on drill for $48, which was selling at Sears not too long ago for $20

I've purchased tools from that outlet in the past. I went to the outlet in st louis 2 weeks ago and they didnt have any craftsman tools either.

I think most are like that. The one by me I went to today because their website said they had metric nut drivers sets for $7, I couldn't find them. They have one single shelf for tools in the back where all the other **** they inventory is roped off right next to it, Its filled with all kinds of ****. I saw plenty of unpacked craftsman boxes with those square boxes of sockets people where finding the 1/4" impacts in. I gave up since they where stacked so high and I only found chrome 3/8" drive. They don't care to help unless your buying a big ticket item like a fridge or washer and dryer.

My order came in but was very disappointed to see they substituted Husky for some of my Craftsman screwdrivers. This **** is going back!

Are you sure you didn't order Husky ones? HJE has a lot of Husky ones listed that are basically identical to the Cman. Both made by WF.

I got Husky screwdrivers as well. I don't care if they fell off the same production line or not over at Western Forge. Ordering on-line is not a lisense for sellers to make substitutions when ever they want without permission. I guess they figure i won't kick up a fuss over a buck 75. And by freakin' observation can't they see that every item I ordered is branded CRAFTSMAN? If I wanted Husky branded **** I'd stop at one of the 10 HDs I pass daily.

It is the exact same screwdriver aside from the color, but I agree with you. Damn OCD...

Maybe because of the item was so cheap they substituted with no notification assuming they'd just let you keep it and refund the price if there was an issue.

Harry did send some other good stuff. The $6 scratch awl is shorter than the one that comes in the 4-piece Professional pick set.

I'm with you, I'd return it. It's a big F-you imo, you should get what you order. It's also a bigger F-you to make them pay return shipping so it feels like you won even if you end up with no tools ;)
