Is the Craftsman 5 pc. Scraper Set still Made by Wilde in the USA or is just the 3-Piece set now? The Craftsman lettering between the 5-Pc and 3-Pc look different.
$29.99

It was $26.99 yesterday

Edit: I just received my 15" adjustable wrench from Sears. Same packaging as usual, only a small square piece of foam along with the wrench and receipt were enclosed, lol

Check the package. USA and some have said Chinese replacements are showing up I believe.

^ ^ ^ Yeah, we dog on Sears sometimes but . .
. . . . those adjustable wrenches (Made In USA) are really nice.

I've got 10" and 12" already and they are super tight. Well worth the money.

We do trash Sears a lot..... but this weekend I went to a Sears store that I don't usually go to. The tool department was miles ahead of what I was used to. The displays had tons of DeWalt tools and everything really looked great. Not the usual mess....

....and there were actually customers in the store, buying stuff. It was nice to see.

Mine came in a box with so much tape, it was like a friend of mine sent it and used a whole roll of tape just to screw with me, and then wrench was wrapped in bubble wrap as well

I got the 5 piece set about 5 weeks ago and was expecting COO China but was pleasantly surprised made in USA... BUT the first box I received only had 4 tools not 5 ...big surprise.

Thanks, that's definitely a warm welcome. Are they made by Wilde? What does the P stand for on this set?

I just got the 3 piece prybar set for 17.99 yesterday. USA made. Picked up the 10 and 12" adjustable wrench for 9.99 after a $10 off $20 a few weeks ago.

Sears ended their March sale yesterday. Upon checking today, the prices for majority of their hand tools have been marked up to 3-4 dollars

Hello all. I am new to this forum. I have desperately needed to expand my tool cart for many years. My financial situation has prevented me from doing so, but things have changed slightly as of now. I have a 26 inch Craftsman rolling cart that is 18 inches deep with 8 drawers. The drawers are 16" deep. I would like the following linked below. My cart is 18 years old and not in production anymore obviously. But I can grind off a bit of the front angle pieces which would allow the following chests to fit. It won't compromise structural integrity and the spot welds would not be touched.

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-3-drawer-premium-heavy-duty-middle-chest/p-00945097000P

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-edge...p-00940762000P?prdNo=8&blockNo=8&blockType=G8

This would hopefully accommodate most of my tools, but I am not paying these outrageous prices. I can't find any other manufacturer that makes intermediate and top chests at a more reasonable price. I need them now, as I have inherited a LOT of tools, but I can wait 3-4 months for a sale or a great coupon, especially Father's Day time. Can anyone advise me as to when I could buy these items for the cheapest price possible??? I don't know when the best sales occur at Sears, or when the best coupons come out. Thank you for your time!!!

The EDGE toolboxes are on sale for half off if you are still interested

So I got my 15" adjustable wrench delivery today from Sears. There was about a 3" hole in the side of the package, and oh the box is empty....

Same here, except for my 15" adjustable was just barely holding on to the inflatable packing wrap inside the box, the only thing keeping it from flying out the gigantic hole on either end. The wrench was a little beat up on the handle end, but not terrible - it's a tool, not a piece of fine china.

USA made.

I do find it funny how the hole at the end of the 15" is far smaller than the 10" and 12". Just one of those things I noticed.

Mine came today and the bag had hole and was empty, then i noticed another box. The box had the wrench and the bag had the return slip. I thought for sure it fell it or the UPS stole it. LOL

I would argue these newer Western Forge made in USA Craftsman adjustables are as good as *any* previous versions from the past. Certainly fit and finish is outstanding. But alas, these two are China now... You can still get them in SK version though from Western Forge when the Sears stock runs out of any US ones left. - Paul

Anyone able to upload pics of the new Chinese versions of the adjustable wrenches so we can compare to the USA versions?

Has anyone actually confirmed that the adjustable wrenches are now China made? It wouldn't surprise me because every time they switched coo they would pout them on sale to clear out the USA versions to make room for the China made.

The box was delivered, but there was a whole in it and the wrench was missing. Called customer service and they wanted to wait until got the box back to issue a refund and then I could reorder it. Will call again shortly to get it reordered. I can't stand their customer service.

That is exactly what happened to me, only they went ahead and issued me a refund when I told them I could send them pictures of the box and mentioned the poor packaging. After two online chats and one call I have to wait for a refund, then I can reorder. I did get the lady to agree on the call to honoring the original price I paid and not whatever the online price is at the time of reordering.

Sears is crappy at times (more often than not) but with all the points and coupon codes one can only get so mad and distraught when dealing with Sears. Be polite, yet firm and they should make things right.

Remind me not to get into a road rage incident with a delivery truck driver from a Garage Journal heavy area. Chances are they may have a 15" forged adjustable Craftsman wrench under their seat.

Haha my driver looked in his truck and couldn't find it. Seems like the shipping hubs may have lots of NOS craftsman tools.

I received my 10"/12" Adjustable Wrench two piece set, as well as my 15" Adjustable Wrench open stock.

The build quality of these is awesome, and the 15" is really stout and has some heft to it.

I think I'm going to keep an eye out for the prices to drop to half price on the other sizes, and put together a full set over time with sale prices, coupon codes, and points.

So much better than the made in China adjustables I have. Those might have to go in the garbage to free up room in the draw to put together a Craftsman USA set.

I think that's why adjustable wrenches have such a bad rap, because people are used to sloppy, cheap, Chinese versions.

Mine was from a local Sears about 15 minutes away and not from a warehouse.

Missing items, broken items, wrong items, or even someone else's returned items.

I have noticed that most of these problems occur when a Sears store is responsible for shipping the order.

Pretty sure they are made by Wilde ... not sure what the "P" stands for. I'll check my archive and see what I can find ..if I find something I'll post it.

One store near me has stock. I remember seeing the infomercial on this thing, and the wife and I made fun of it the entire time. However, it did actually look to be useful in limited scenarios. For $70, it might not be a bad buy.

I find it hard to believe that it has nearly 1700 legitimate reviews on sears.com. I don't think I've ever seen anything else have even half that many reviews.

Yes, the hard red handled Craftsman gasket scrapers are made by Wilde.

Strange, because the Wilde branded gasket scrapers have the clear acetate handles like the Craftsman screwdrivers with acetate handles, and silver colored metal, not black oxide.

They must have changed the handles at some point. Because I have an old Craftsman gasket scraper, and it has the clear acetate handle, and silver colored metal (like a screwdriver).

It seems the Craftsman gasket scrapers are made more like the Wilde pry bars, black oxide and red hard handles. They used to be made more like screwdrivers, with silver metal and clear acetate handles.

The new versions do seem to be much sharper than the old, and seem to hold the tip's sharpness better.

That is a very good point. Having dealt with the stock room guys at the location my wrench shipped before, I am surprised a box even showed up. Probably a reason why packages from Sears are so hit or miss.

I recently received a 36 in. pry bar (USA) from Sears. There's a "P" on the handle, and the box says "Wilde Tool Co."

I think I just virtually racked up every USA Craftsman tool (which I found satisfactory) in their current inventory

It will be interesting where they choose to finally settle in the near future, whether its here on the mainland or 101% overseas

Time to keep an eye out for more USA / quality tool offerings on eBay and Amazon :D

Ordered that 15 inch adjustable on the 10th- still says processing for pickup, no estimated date, not a single order confirmation email, nothing.
