I received an e-mail from Sears stating that my cabinet order was canceled. The problem is: Total Charged 106.99
Total Credited 77.02

I assume it is because of spending the 30 bucks back earned from the canceled purchase. Currently chatting and Sears says that is the issue and do not wish to refund the total amount.

Suggestions?

Thanks.

They used to deduct the spent points amount from your point balance, but I think that encouraged people to make a return and abandon their rewards accounts which went into the negative. So, Sears/Kmart eventually started to deduct from the out of pocket payment.

However, in your case you did not make a return.

I would encourage anyone else with a similar situation to point out to customer service that you did nothing wrong. You provided a valid payment method for the order, and you spent the earned points in the valid redemption period. It was Sears that did not accomplish their duty in delivering the order, and you should not be penalized for their failure.

Not many new tools deals to find lately, but this seemed liked a good idea for expiring points. :dunno:

Simply Styled Men's Trifold Wallet $8 (reg. $16.99)

http://www.sears.com/simply-styled-men-s-trifold-wallet/p-033VA100286212P

Label inside the wallet says "Buxton".

There are 27 items in the Tools dept now marked as being part of a '2-day-only' online pre-Father's Day 'flash sale' (ends Sat 6/9). However, I know that some of them have been at these prices for longer than that for sure, because one of them is the $14.99-sale $25.99-regularly 6pc punch/chisel set we've been talking about all week. So I'm not sure which if any of the rest of these deals are actually new/good.
http://www.sears.com/deals/center/h...shsale&soldBy=sears&department=Tools&sort=asc

Worth a look:
$12.99 sale, $20.99 reg. - 24" magnetic level - http://www.sears.com/craftsman-cm-39454-mag-alum-level-24/p-00939454000P
$14.99 sale, $21.99 reg. - Evolv 3pc metal snips set - http://www.sears.com/craftsman-evolv-3-pc-aviation-snip-set/p-00903089000P
a few wrench sets half-off
$129.99 sale, $249.99 reg. - 55pc 1/2" drive impact socket set - http://www.sears.com/craftsman-55-pc-1-2-in-drive-dual-mark/p-00983127000P (this would also get you the $50 points back on $125+ OOP deal, if you don't use coupons/points to drop below that)

In for one of the levels only one i needed to complete my set of levels.

Here's a decent deal. I got both sizes of the 'Sidewinder' tape measures last year, and 'paid' (with points/offers) $15 for the 25ft one and $8 for the 16ft one. The 16ft one is currently $11, but the 25ft one is currently down to $13 (maybe not the lowest ever, I didn't keep track after I got mine). It is bulkier than a traditional tape measure of the same length, but nice for measuring horizontal surfaces without the case falling over after you let go of it. I recommend buying in-store if possible so you can try out the auto-lock/retraction mechanism, some of them work better than others.

Craftsman Sidewinder 25' Tape Measure
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-sidewinder-25'-tape-measure/p-00952332000P
$19.99 regularly, $12.99 sale

$9.49 member price right now, so you may want to try for price protection.

Went to use that $30 back on $30 only to find that the wife already saw it and ordered a bunch of clothes for my kiddo. Oh well, I still got the points.

Since I kept asking when they'll get a Father's Day tool display this year, the tool department staff threw together various Craftsman tools on a table near the register. :rolleyes2

After SBD bought the Craftsman brand, there was talk about Sears continuing with their own Craftsman line for their stores. However, the lack of anything new for Father's Day may suggest that it has become a battle to keep their existing items from disappearing.

Oh boy, glad I got that 5pc file set (made by Nicholson, IIRC) a few months ago while I still could! Trying to decide what to buy next has started to feel like a game of musical chairs, you never know which product they're going to yank out from under you next. ;)

They're doing "get it all back in points over a year" (100% back in 12 monthly installments) on the following items this week (ends 6/17, or maybe sooner if they hit their sales quotas):

$280 Invicta Men's Bolt 52mm Stainless Steel Black and Black Dial VD53 Quartz Watch

$300 Craftsman 37471 21" 163cc Briggs & Stratton 3-in-1 Lawn Mower with High Rear Wheels

$380 Kenmore 4-Burner LP Gas Grill with Searing Side Burner - Mocha

$130 BLACK+DECKER LSTE523 20V EASYFEED™ Cordless String Trimmer & Edger (this one came up on a third-party seller by default when I opened it; go to the 'shop from' list of other sellers to select Sears)

PS: Opening the lawnmower and/or the string trimmer product page seems to have triggered a "TODAY ONLY! $20 FREECASH in Points on $75+ in Lawn & Garden" offer to be added to my account. As always, using any points/offers/coupons will reduce the amount of points-back received.

Edit: Here's a couple more participating items I didn't see the first time:

$380 Bladez Fitness Stratum GS II Indoor Exercise Bike

$280 MaxiClimber Vertical Climber (this one came up on a third-party seller by default when I opened it; go to the 'shop from' list of other sellers to select Sears)

The limit is doing this deal 1 time on 1 participating item of your choice, not once per participating item as some previous incarnations have been.

They sell some decent stuff in other departments, so not focusing just on tools is a good idea.

Got to try out my Craftsman Pole Saw attachment today.
It worked well.

I've got a $5 offer and a $3 off $15+ both expiring today. After far too much consideration, I decided on:

Craftsman 23-1/2 in. Pick Up Tool (flexible shaft with nonmagnetic pickup claw)
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-23-1-2-in-pick-up-tool/p-00941322000P
$5.99 in-store sale 6/10-6/17, $6.59 online sale, $7.99 regularly

Craftsman 7/8" x 7 1/2" Cold Chisel (the last type of punch/chisel that still has a US-made one in my area)
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-7-8-x-7-1-2-in-cold-chisel/p-00942976000P
$11.99, not on sale
+
Craftsman 5 Gallon Bucket
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-5-gallon-bucket/p-00957897000P
$3.99, not on sale

Update: Went to the store and got the above items, deals all worked and the pickup tool turned out to be $0.60 cheaper in-store than it is online! :) But not one single coupon/offer printed out with my receipt after either transaction.

A few other good sale tags I noticed in-store:
- Irwin extendable screwdriver is on a very good sale price of $8.42 from 6/3 to 8/4.
- Craftsman Mach T-handle drivers are on sale 5/27 to 6/23 for what is usually their lowest except when an additional 10%-off-everything sale happens when they're already on sale - $19.99 for the 1/4" set and $24.99 for the 3/8" set.

I ended up buying a cheap welding helmet (Smarter Tools brand) and chipping hammer (Forney?) to use some points I had expiring... I think I paid $12 OOP to have them shipped to my door... Cheaper and easier than having to drive to HF...

Re: Done with sears

I don't post here much. But i had to about my Sears on line experience.
I ordered 5 Tools from Sears on line, on June 6th. The Package arrived yesterday from California. Only 3 pieces in the box, 2 were missing. Called Sears, all I could get was some overseas people that spoke pidgeon english. After I placed 7 calls, and 3.5 hours later I finally got a refund for the missing pieces. Never could get transferd to an American person that I could understand.
How anyone can do business with that company is beyond me. There are no Sears stores within a 100 miles of here any more, and I don't miss them.
Don't get me wrong, If you hollered Craftsman in my gararge, everything would come to attension. All I can say is if they want to loose customers that is the way to do it. No more on line Craftsman for me, I'm done with them for good now.
Sorry for the rant. You guys that buy all this stuff on line from them, Good luck. Like I said I done with them.

Sears has certainly figured out how to not run a railroad.

Bummer, sorry to hear that.

I highly recommend only utilizing the online chat with customer service, they are fairly efficient and there are minimal language barrier issues. I recently had an order with missing items as well (heck even the packing slip didn't list the missing items) and customer service via chat took care of it quickly.

I never call, only online chat. A lot easier when the problem is not solved, I have proof of what was told to me. I always get a copy of the chat sent to my email. I think they know that so they are paying more attention.

And don’t waste 3.5 hr on phone. Report the transaction to your credit card company, problem solved :)

Not actually a Sears hot deal, but it is Craftsman. Ace has 7" Craftsman speed squares regular $4.99 now $2.99 for rewards members and the ones my local store has are made in the USA. I think these are made by Johnson. I keep these around the shop for quick measuring and squaring.

I just returned from the Miami FL Sears store and the inventory is shrinking. The tool section is smaller, I wandered around to see what sales tags I saw...the best thing I saw was a set of 1/4", 3/8" & 1/2" Craftsman swiveling breaker bars marked-down to $20, and sets of Craftsman combo wrenches 6 pc, inch or metric, $10. There was some stuff in the clearance section, but when scanned, they were regular price, no box, missing pieces, so no-sale to me.

I have two C'man shop vacs, better buy some filters, not sure who makes them for Sears, for interchangeability.

I use CleanStream filters in all my vacs, and work fine in Craftsman. They are wet/dry & cleans off with a light couple taps. I wouldn't necessarily worry about stocking up on filters, unless you have points to burn. I even sold our 4 gallon vac, as it was special size filter, and there isn't a clean-stream option in that size.

+1 (or 5) for the online chat. My chat today with 'Camp' wasn't super short as he had to read some T&C and a little other research, but after contacting his "superiors" he credited my account asap.

I did see my Sears got some new Dewalt sawzall blades in. Nothing fancy, such as carbide teeth, but I don't remember seeing them before their remodel, or rearrangement as it should be called.

All the Craftsman/Oregon Chainsaw Replacement Chains are on sale for more than 50% off. In case you have points to burn and want to stock up on consumables before Sears goes out of business. I got an extra chain for my chainsaw and polesaw.

I already have about 4 Craftsman Wet/Dry Vac Filters stockpiled, so I should be good to go for those.

I went to the store yesterday to see if they had interior tools to remove a door panel, and there is NOTHING in the tool department. The only thing I have been using Sears for since about last November 2017, is as a store pickup location for online orders. Then I went over to Harbor Fright and it was loaded with product and loaded with customers.

It's a shame. I remember back in the day when the Sears tool department looked like Harbor Freight, except it was a Harbor Freight with USA made tools.

Thanks for the heads up on that. I also got some screwdriver sets for the same price because they were still US stock.
