Holy sh!t, I just (mentally)disposed of all my Crown Royal glasses when I saw these....

If you were in the U.S., where shipping would be reasonable, you could make some fast cash from a few of us collectors.

How much is a laser engraver thingamajig? :D

I know all about that. When I was regularly shipping custom glassware to addresses in the US, the shipping costs were almost as much as the glassware (glass is heavy). You don't want to know what it cost to air-freight 18 custom engraved champagne glasses to England.

The price is all over the shop. It really depends on size and country of manufacture.

ULS, Epilog, and Trotec are the major US made brands, and like US made tools, they are expensive. A new small desk top unit will have a high 4 figure price tag and they go up from there. Options like cutting tables, rotary units, air assist, and enhanced optics boost the price by $1000-$2000 per option. Mine is one of the bottom end "platform lasers", but I added almost all the available options, delivered I got a bit of change from CAD$30K. There are companies selling used models for less, but they'll still be expensive.

Chinese made units are much cheaper, with some of the small desktop units selling for less than $1000.

Quick Question, I have notices 2 versions of the Heritage logo, one with the side bars and one without that is only oval, can anyone explain the difference between the two?

Thanks,
James

P.S:

........ I can work with shipping charges when it comes to those glasses!! I work for a small company called UPS. At over 8lbs or so....UPS can be surprisingly less expensive than USPS.

I have a scanner, am good with Gimp and have access to a full size plotter. What would you like them scaled to sir? :spit:

You can make vinyl stickers? If you can make a page of actual size, outside(negative space) stickers, I can lightly sand blast the logo on to glass. Not as cool as a freakin laser beam but WAAAY closer to my budget :p

Goin to go and pick this one up tomorrow. :bounce:.

Killer box, post up when it's yours!

...not unless I get there first! Kidding, sweet pick up!

Well I went and got it and it was alittle rougher than I would have liked but for what I paid for it I can live with it. and half the fun is fixing this stuff up. All four corners of the lid are blown out going to have to do some welding.

That is a cool box. How much was it, if ya don't mind? What holds the lid open and prevents it from falling back? I didn't see any corner hinge braces.

Inherited this box from my step grandpa as well. He worked in the maintenance shop at United Airlines so somewhere along the line it got a coat of Zinc Chromate primer.

The color doesn't show up well in this shot, but it's a bright yellow-green color.

The other day I snapped these shots during some yard work. A little heritage logo gardening love. I used to collect old Craftsman stick tools :yikes:. Pictured with its Sears Craftsman handle younger brother.

Picked up this pair last week. I can't decide if I should use as is, restore or sell to a collector. It is just a shame someone painted them. Does anyone know if any locksmith make a key for the top chest.

I don't own any Craftsman items that are pre-2008 (the date that I arrived in Canada and started replacing the incompatible voltage power tools that there was no point bringing with me from Australia), but I have an appreciation for vintage tools and logos, and this topic inspired me to create a unique "Craftsman Heritage" item for myself.

Starting with this photo from an earlier post:

An hour or so tinkering in CorelDRAW to produce a black and white vector drawing based on the photo:

Craftsman 1950s BW70.jpg

Once the design work was done, it took just a few minutes in the LASER engraver to put the above design on an 11oz Libbey Rocks glass.

It's now part of my very unique collection of glassware.

Oh... Holy...**** :bowdown::bowdown: PM sent

Ya got some time on yer hands? Restore it, take it down to bare metal & make it new again. Then you can keep it or sell it for more than you would right now.

Is there a thread for pre heritage logo craftsman? BTW - this thread should be in the vintage forum.

O yes, this is my favorite craftsman logo. I shall start with this bad boy, a late 40's carpenter's box.

I have the same box - posted it in the vintage tool box thread. Mine is a lot more rusted, though. I'm hoping to clean it up and straighten it out! It's cool to see that you have that piece of wood in the top - are there slits in it for saws or blades? I saw that on mine and just assumed my grandfather put it there himself!

-James

edit:
here's my post about the box:

Most of the less expensive newer boxes are ****, this thread is more for the older version. That said, I did pick up one of the new heritage logo stacks with tool set combos for my girls son last Christmas.he gave me the sticker and I stuck it on the lathe bench under my heritage logo 12x36 metal lathe.

Those are nice, there is not currently a "long C" thread that I can think of, you should start one! Also, this thread was created before there was a "vintage" section. We need to pm a mod to move it over, thanks!

Have a few of the more common items -- bench top drill press, a couple of 3.5 in. bench vises (only include pictures of one), and a machinist chest in pretty nice, original condition. Chest is as bought as I haven't really taken the time to clean it up. Even got the keys with it.

Love the stand on that drill press. I've got my old Walker Turner on a wheeled office file cabinet. I've been considering building it into a larger cabinet and getting some sturdier wheels on it!

Adding another one to the mix.

A Tap and Die set in a wooden box. Likely made by the Greenfield Co.

There's a guy on ebay that makes replacement guides for vintage band saws. They can be pricey, but are well made. I'd look into it.

I'm drooling here... I want that box, and drill press table!

Is that press originally "power bronze" with that logo, or was it gray? My power bronze stuff all has the Crowntop logo.

Yes the color is original. I assume it was built at a transition point between the 100 and the 150,the modal number is 103 24811. The rotary table still has the original clamps and t nuts, they-the drill press, with a Vary-Slo, rotary table and a drill vise all in "power bronze" were quite a find

I am new here, but Been acquiring tools for 30 years. Here's a Craftsman Heritage start for me. A wall mount tool cabinet, apron, and a sharpening stone. How many of you have ever seen the apron?
John D.

Anybody have a factory photo...(catalog picture)...of the carpenter wall cabinet LOADED.....?

I have several pics of the Mechanics box ...with tools....but not this one...
