I agree with you Jackson. There should be a race car in the garage. Prior to having the 4 kids, I used to race up until about 2003. Now that they are getting a bit older I am starting to look again.

My wife actually thoroughly enjoyed the racing lifestyle. It allowed her to meet new friends that she may not have ever met otherwise.

Well if you ever decide to get back into it & need some chassis dyno time look me up. I purchased a Mustang a couple of years & would like to run different vehicles just for the experience & get a little more comfortable using it. Adds to software data base as well.

Reasonably comfortable with HP Tuners & the Wide Band.

Beautiful home, and garages.

When I was about the age of your boys, I helped my father do a frame off/ rotisserie restoration of a 69 Z11, 350 4 speed. I wish I had the new car to go with the old one my father has.

Unfortunately, haven't done a darn thing this past year other than Spring cleaning! My goal is to get the floor expoxied either this Fall or in the Spring. A couple of pictures from this Summer though.

A piece of land that size in Calgary would be divided into 100 lots! I am truly in awe of your gorgeous house and surroundings. Looking foward to the many improvements you will undoubtedly make in the near future.

Rick, I decided to post a few pics after seeing your thread. You've done a fantastic job on yours! Was just showing the wife how organized and tasteful it is. I'm torn between the epoxy floor and what you have done. Yours looks really clean. Any drawbacks that you can think of so far?

Unfortunately I do not have in floor heating like you, so I am a bit leery of using the same floor and have the moisture sit there under the flooring. That and I am not too sure how easy it would be to clean with snow dripping off the vehicles. Sorry for all the questions, but how does your floor make out with bringing the vehicles in and out in the Winter?

Again, fantastic looking garage Rick. We are blessed to have found a retirement spot with lots of land to use our imagination on. Land in BC is almost a decimal place difference in value to Calgary.

Slow with updates, but other projects haven taken away the budget...

Installed new 4 tube 4' lights today. Well, what HD had for inventory anyway. The rest of the lights are here August 8th.

Finally decided on flooring. Going to go with the polyaspartic flooring. From there I need to decide on cabinets.

Here's the old lights:

And the progress today

All the lights I had now installed. The iPhone doesn't do justice the difference in light!

The front of the 69' still has the old 2-tube fixture. A bit darker in that corner.

Nice work on the light upgrade. So sorry I never saw your question regarding the RaceDeck floor. Looks like you have made a decision on your floor, though. Personally, the Free Flow RaceDeck tiles work well for me. My floor isn't heated, but I have an effective overhead infrared heater that does a good job of drying things out in the winter. I hope you have success with your flooring choice and thanks for the kind words regarding my space. It's been a lot of fun to share my "sickness" with others and have them appreciate my work. Best of luck.

PS..that's a pretty serious compressor by the look of it.

Wow, great space and layout you have there. Just seeing this for the first time. Those shots of your property from a distance and breathtaking. Thanks for sharing!

TV mounted today. Just waiting for quote to tear down a divider wall between bay 1 and the other 2 bays and put on a polyaspartic floor down.

Tskills10, it's a 350sb w/m22 4-speed.

Had to re shingle all the buildings this year. Windows and doors start in 2 weeks. It puts some of my plans for the interior on hold though.

Here's the old cedar shakes

Looking for advice on painting a border stripe(s) around the garage. Anyone have any experience with it? Is it difficult to do correctly?

Some new steel has arrived! You can see that the windows are finally getting done. They were in real rough shape.

I have to agree with you PC06! The '56 is a nice blend of the best parts of a 55 and a 57. A grill somewhat similar to the 57, but retaining the great interior of the 55.

Looks like you are having a lot of fun out there! (I recognize the view, and I believe I've stood very near the same spot as you took your view shot!) A nice collection of new toys to fill those garages.

And for those commenting earlier, not all land in BC is as affordable as this area... where I live you could probably multiply the price by 10... it completely depends on scarcity, and when land is scarce and desirable the price soars.

Back to the OP's garage, any changes to the inside since the early photos, or just some new toys?

No changes to the inside yet other than windows. Big plans for the spring hopefully. I'd like to turf the old kitchen cabinets and put in some modular ones. Walls to be painted with a border.

Well, the shop expansion and renovations have started. In order to add the additional bays we have to remove the old concrete. It'll be more work trying to cut in support posts and underpin the foundation. So we decided to just rep-pour.

Concrete is gone. Next step is to finish excavation and start footings. Was a hot one today!

Got slowed down with surveyors. Footings are dugout. Next step is to form and pour.

Looks exciting, have you got a sketch of the new shop you can share with us?

Will it be a working shop, showroom, both, etc...?

Glad to see you have the room and the ambition.

Continued success,

Paul

It will be a working shop. The existing shop will be more of a detail/showroom area.

Framing on ground floor is nearly done. The floor joists will start to go up today.
