I asked if she wanted A.C. and she said no.

It's all good because she hasn't used the building since I built it.

Don't feel bad, I knew she would do that. She does the same thing with almost everything she asks me to build.

She sees something on Pinterest and decides she has to have it, so I bust my **** building or making it and she either doesn't use it or she sells it. Go figure.

Tell her you're going to start inviting the guys over to drink beer and watch baseball in it. She might suddenly get motivated to use it. :lol_hitti

Well no concrete this weekend, we had some monsoon rains yesterday so of course all my trenches are now filled with mud that I get to dig back out :(

Started on the brick a few weeks ago and I forgot how much I hate laying brick. Between a bad back and then yesterday having a bit of heat exhaustion from trying to finish the last row, I've had about enough of this project.

I should be able to finish it up on Wednesday and I'll post some of the finished pictures.

This should be my final post for this shed  cause I "think" I'm done with it

Got all but 4 bricks layed (ran out of motar ), but I'll put those on this weekend. After work today I spread out the dirt and on Sunday I'll pressure wash the brick and that should be it :willy_nil

But as any married man knows, when the wife watches to many of those HGTV or DIY shows she gets too many ideas :shocking:

So with a lot of arguing and saying no, I started on her she shed :headscrat

:bounce: haha, well said, I'm just one of those wives :)))
My husband and I are inspired by mini-houses - when the inside is a transformer house and everything is interchangeable - a kitchen table, bed, bedside tables.
You have a very cute house.

Thank you.

I hope she will actually use it and not relegate it (and all my hard work) to being just a lawn ornament

Lmao, I have about 5000 pieces of greenware and a kiln taking up my garage for the same reason.

I'm going through this right now. I put up a 1200 sq ft building 2 years ago and my wife suddenly decided she needs a building of her own for her garden stuff. I told her to pick part of the pole barn, but she refused.

She's putting up a ridiculously expensive 10x16 shed. It's timber-framed and has hand sawn hemlock floors. WTF? - It's a storage shed. I'm hands-off on this one. :D

She could have built it for 50% of what she's going to end up paying. It's her money, but I hate to see it get wasted. I hate HGTV. :D

She'll start using it, then realize she needs more room, you'll try to extend it by making a Lady's Lean-to, but will eventually have to extend it into a She-shop. At that point, you have to be careful, because after that is the B****, er, Babe Barn... :lol_hitti

I will give my wife a bit of credit, once I say I'm done with it, she doesnt want any additions or modifications. Mostly because I make sure she puts down on paper what she wants it to look like and that when I say I'm done, it's done.

I did the same thing, I have an 1800 sq ft shop and said she could use it anytime she wanted to, but it was to dirty for her to be out there. And you see the compromise I was forced to make :headscrat

I know how you feel. I built my kids a nice 8x12 playhouse that's 13' tall with a loft over the porch, a custom dutch front door, and full size rear door. They used it maybe 20 times in the 5 years it's been built. I've thought long and hard to replace the rear door with a double door so I can store lawn equipments in it.

You know as soon as you put it to use for you, that's when they will complain you took their playhouse and they were just getting ready to put it to use :shocking:

True, 1st dog house is the spare bedroom, 2nd dog house is my 30x60 shop and the 3rd dog house is the she shed.

Either way I have a place to sleep :)

Looks like a great place to hang out with the guys and watch motorsports on the tv great job on the shed.

Actually it is, had some guys over to watch the Texas vs OU game not that long ago and with all the screaming and yelling at the tv it was nice to be out there so the wives could gab in the house.

I know I said I was done but I got tired of looking at the fridge just sitting there and we didn't have any storage or counter space so, this will have to do.

SOOOO very true, and she is already bugging me about a screened in porch for the back door of the house. Which I don't really understand since she doesn't go outside :headscrat

Gutted, nice job finishing up the shed, it's been awhile since I checked your progress. Please tell me you did not sell your blue chevy p/u that used to be your avatar photo!
