And while I was sifting through the archives, my questions from (what feels like long ago) are answered - thanks!
Just a word of caution(?). I've seen knock-offs of the Facom version when I was at a French fleamarket. I picked it up, made a quick inspection and deemed it a low quality tool. The chrome plating on it reeked of cheapness. It was a no-namer, just like the one you're curious about. So, keep that in mind.
There's some good information in this thread, all the way to page 5:

My Vessel, Ko-ken, PB, and Wera screwdrivers all fit well on the JIS fasteners I've encountered.
Sick Puppy,
I own various Vessel model 900 cross recess and slotted screwdrivers. I have not had the opportunity to use them on JIS cross recess fasteners.
I would recommend posing this same question to "mrtools". He owns various Vessel model 930 screwdrivers (with hex bolsters and metal striking caps). "mrtools" works in machine maintenance at some facility in Malaysia. Some of the equipment he works on were built in Japan. "mrtools" has owned Vessel screwdrivers for a number of years and put them through heavy duty use.

Yeahh!! Vessel screwdriver confirm a JIS certificate..for a JIS screws Vessel is the best screwdriver to use..Megadora have a comfortable handle too
Btw: I had a very good experienced with Vessel Megadora, SoftGrip, and BallGrip screwdrivers..Awesome!!

@superautobacs - I was aware of the threads re: JIS drivers, but from memory the megadora line has changed from JIS, but apparently still fit... meh, I'll buy them anyway, I like the variety of sizes, which is greater than the Koken ones I have. Ooh, which reminds me, is it bad by the way that I'm considering buying Lancer VDE drivers to complement the Koken drivers I have?
Love them *******...
As for the pliers, these are Japanese and used - won't be chinese rubbish, although depending on when they were made, could just be (old) Japanese rubbish instead. When I fancy a crack, I may make an offer, it's one of the established traders on Trademe here. Not too fussed, it can wait.
@dede2897234: Thanks man, that's right, believe it or not, buying them vessels is still on my to do list! Looks like Level Chrome will be fulfilling what we hoped RJCoolTools were going to do... give it time, it will happen.

But lo and behold...
... @mrtools - thanks, all three of you re: above thread - reaffirmed my desire to buy them. I like Japanese stuff.
Browning firearms used to be Belgian made. Not sure if any now are or not - most manufacturing moved to Japan.
Not a complete loss then, at least it's not China!
