OP
If you google search, the biggest culprit seems to be Adguard.
My wife has a 2015 MacBook Pro. I will give it a shot tonight.

Not sure if this has been brought to your attention Ryan, but the link https://www.garagejournal.com/2021/02/sendcutsend/ in your sendcutsend thread is giving a 404 error.
I don't know if this has already been asked, but is it possible to have the search function recognize quoted strings?
Example 1: I want to search for posts about combination squares. If I enter combination square into the search box, it searches for the words independently, and I might get results for combination wrenches and square drive ratchets. It would be nice to be able to put it in quotes - "combination square" - and get results for that specific phrase.
Example 2: I want to search for posts about try squares. If I enter try square into the search box, it will search for "square" and tell me "try" is too short a word and is being ignored. In that situation I should be able to put "try square" (with quotes) into the search box and get results for that specific phrase, including the "try" part.
Can it happen? Thanks man.
It was in that 1/4" roto ratchet thread... I just went back and tested it... it works now. Sorry, Guess I am special... Just like my mother said. That doesn’t sound related to the site, but happy to take a look. Send me a link to a post having issues. @PelicanPines
Thanks again for all your work Ryan. I tried using Chrome on the same machine, and I still get the lag. It's not the worst thing in the world, just enough to be noticeable. I also checked and verified I do not have Adguard or any other extensions installed in Safari...If you google search, the biggest culprit seems to be Adguard.

I also tried combining keywords and phases like Asylum "jib crane" and it worked well for that too. I might actually use the search function here now vs Google site search!OK... Hot Rod search engine is now online and working... as part of that, you can now use quotes for a phrase search.
Example, if you are looking for information on a SK wrench you can type this into the search box:
"SK wrench"
Quotes and all... and it will return all posts with that phrase.

Well done!!
Lots of pop-up ads/videos that weren't here before. Dave R.
I think we can say you are a good example of 'quality over quantity'......What did the mama tomato say to the baby tomato?
You have to create a new thread, and then you can see the option
John, if you didn't catch the initial font in the opening hours, you missed it. It was hard to read, Ryan was on it and figured out the problem and fixed it.With each day of use, this new format gets better and better. Not sure why the hate early on...even the first day was magnitudes better than the old format....especially on my phone. And I'm still at a loss as to why the hate for the font.
Ryan, my mistake. I apparently was not logged in when getting those ads. Thanks for your hard work here. The new format is dandy. CJDave.if logged in, you should only have two ads in the forum - same as before. Can you send me a screenshot?
I thought I was pretty quick to log in when it was back up....but I guess not quick enoughJohn, if you didn't catch the initial font in the opening hours, you missed it. It was hard to read, Ryan was on it and figured out the problem and fixed it.
thats what I needEd… that’s your user profile page within Wordpress. I should fix that.

It dawned on me the Search function has quite a bit of capability, and I found a way to do this if you have the name of the member in mind and don't need a list to remind you of everyone that replied in your thread to pick from:REQUEST:
In the old forum when you were viewing the Garage Gallery listing for instance, you could click on the Replies number for a given thread to see who all posted in a thread. A new window would open listing everyone that replied in that thread... like this:
(This was my ASYLUM thread listing from a while back as an example)
![]()
When clicking on the underlined number following each members name, it would display every message in the thread that they had made. This was handy because I typically can remember who gave a tip or something that I wanted to refer back to, but this kept me from having to scroll through the entire thread looking for it.
It basically acted like a reply filter just to see that members replies in a given thread.
Is there a way to do this in this new forum format? If not, can it be added?
