Patiently waiting. I got my midrise from you guys... looking forward to adding this to my garage!! :bounce:

Happy New Year!!

Hello all - Happy holidays!

First production MaxJax unit has been going through testing. All is well - except for the fact that the lift was painted blue. :headscrat

Interesting note. When our guys were installing the anchors they screwed up drilling the holes. They were in a rush and did not mark the holes correctly so the bolts did not line up with the recessed anchors. Well, they only got one recessed anchor and bolt in the backside of the column - there should be three. The rear anchors pretty much do all the work. We then proceeded to load the lift with 9,000 pounds with the arms fully extended. (Three, 3000-lb. bundles.) The one lonely anchor held firm and the lift worked flawlessly. See link below. NOTE: The hydraulic pipe exiting the rear of the column is not the correct set-up. They hard lined the install because they were in a rush and no need to quick-disconnect etc.

Should make all users feel a little more warm and fuzzy about the anchors doing their job.

All of us at BendPak wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.xmas

Jeff

P.S.
Please be aware that the lift will now be marketed as a Dannmar product.

Thank you,

Rumor has it that you have to have at least 3378 posts minimum to get onto the list, and that it is limited to one unit being being offered to the 1'st poster to this thread that meets all the qualifications..........:lol_hitti

..Shouldn't there be some flat washers installed under those bolt heads ?......H

Washers are meant to transfer the load out over a weaker surface. The plates under the bolts here would be more than strong enough!

Yeah, I got one too...

Anyone else get one yet?

March release... $1,989...

Perfect. I was concerned with some of the prices being said around some forums saying it would be $2,100 - $2,500...

This is definitely back on my list to purchase.

Agreed with the spreading of the load, but in an installation with a hex fastener, I would use a washer to protect the steel surface from the wrench/socket and the hex flates from digging into the base metal. I always use a washer on the dynamic (turning side) of the fastener and most of the time on the static side if it is a bolt/nut combo.

You will find that in more permanant installation of bolts/nuts that they don't use washers, like a bridge or a building, but this thing is going together on a weekly basis, otherwise they would buy a permanant 2 post lift.

I once screwed up a set of heads on a small block chevy on the lower set of bolts when the flats dug in on the casting and broke out the base metal.

Just my 2 cents...

So is there a real group purchase going, or was that a wish on someones part?

Actually, bridge bolts do require the use of hardened washers under the turned element, whether it is the bolt or nut.

I'm not trying to bad mouth the Max Jax lift or anything but do these testimonials seem fake to anyone else? "Omar's" testimonial seems really over the top. Look at page 6 and 7 in this:http://www.maxjaxusa.com/downloads/maxjax-garage-lift.pdf

I really like the lift and I already signed up to buy one, I'm just curious what others think.

Yeah, I thought about the same thing, but I saw somewhere that Jeff explained that he gave some prototypes to those people to try out to gauge some interest.

Maybe they're just overly excited people.

The group buy is on and there's only 9 left at the special pricing, which is friggin great! $1500.00 delivered! Garage Equipment Supply Inc. (www.gesusa.com) is the distributor. If you want one, call Marco immediately at 800-261-7729 ext. 125 and put down your deposit. Drop Jeff Kritzer's name and tell him you're a forum member to get this price.

Thanks a bunch Jeff!

What you have posted above is in direct contridiction to what has been posted here......:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Hello to all of you that have expressed interest in the "Ultimate Garage Lift". The much anticipated MaxJax group buy will be made available to Garage Journal members only Sunday February 15, 2009. The special group buy offer will be made to those residing in the United States and Canada. This offer will be one of a kind and is being listed on Garage Journal only. Those located in Hawaii, Alaska and Canada are welcome to sign up, but additional shipping fees will apply.

This is how the group buy will work...

  • A special MaxJax group buy website will be made available for interested group buyers to visit and sign up.
  • First come, first serve – the first 20 interested buyers that sign up and "submit" their order will be awarded the special price of $1500.00 delivered.
  • The official sign-up will begin at EXACTLY 3:00PM, Pacific Time, Sunday February 15, 2009.
  • The website address will be - www.maxjaxusa.com/groupbuy
  • User Name…MaxJaxGB
  • Password…GBMaxPass
  • The group buy will continue until 20 buyers are confirmed.
  • Only one MaxJax per buyer.

Please mark your calendars and/or earmark this post. In the future, other group buy offers may be made available but not at this introductory price. Why are we giving this fine product away at such an incredible price? - Because the MaxJax is a new product and we can't imagine a better way to reach the masses quicker than through the fan-base of Garage Journal and their influence on DIY'ers and their passion for quality tools and equipment.

Good luck.

Kojak,
I called out Jeff on those testimonials. His responses seemed to be fabricated to fit the situation with alot of liberty. I am sure this is common through out most of any new product coming into production. With all of that bieng said I am confident that most people will be happy with purchasing the Maxjax as long as in conforms to their personal reqquirements. Besides why would they make and sell a product and damage their reputation.

What is wrong with his comments? He is posting his positive thoughts about this product. You are free to disagree, however, I can't see how anyone could argue with what he has said. It is a great lift at a great price.:thumbup::thumbup:

Junkman,

Nothing is wrong with the comments, they just seemed a bit contrived that's all. You're right 1500.00 is a GREAT price. Almost too good to be true, that's why I was wondering about the testimonials. They all seemed to have been written by the same person or they all just really love the lift! I hope it's the latter!;)

Toadjammer,

Thanks for inquiring with Jeff. I agree with your comments about their reputation. I'm sure the lift will function as advertised.

How the heck did I miss this discussion....
With my low ceiling height of 100 inches, I was leaning toward's
Bendpak's scissors lift.
BendpakBSP-7XUPW.jpg

Due to I had some access through the center of the car or my truck.
But with MaxJax...I am rethinking that.

The only issue with me would be the pad's height of 3.5-inches
1/2 inch too tall to fit under my BMW Z3.
I could always get some small wood ramps to drive up on, when I need to lift it.

Other than that, looks well built.

edit: If we can not get in on the GB, will you be offering a small discount to tGJ.com members?

Funfer2,

I was quoted 1500.00 plus tax delivered to the nearest shipping terminal or to my home. If I want the driver to off-load it, an additional fee would apply (about $100).

If you don't live in CA then you get to cheat the government out of a few bucks.

Did someone from Danmar say it's 1800.00? I think that might be the regular price.

Yes, someone associated with them said $1,800.
Is your quote from Dannmar, if so, who do I contact ? :headscrat

Thanks,
Kevin
