are these kits still available for purchase on your website thats linked in your signature?

I'm all out of Standard sized dies but I have about 15 sets of Pipe sized ones ready to ship.

I have now opened a DHL account. One flat rate of 60 bucks CDN anywhere in the US including Alaska and Hawaii, the next day. For the Pipe sized Dies and it will be even less for the Standard sized ones, when I get a new run done later this month.

Cheers!

Claude

I've been wanting a set of these for far too long Nasty. Count me in for a full set of the pipe size dies. I'll be out of town till next Tuesday so this will need to wait until then. Do you prefer I go through the order form on your site?. And if so, now with your new shipping deal, do I still need to wait for confirmation of the shipping cost?. BTW, I'm located at 92508.

Thanks, Cam.

LX, I'm just a dumb fabricator who can barely ship stuff International.:willy_nil
It's best if you go through the web site....
You should no longer have to wait for the shipping cost estimates as it
is now flat rate.

When I spin up the Standard sized dies. I'll post up the rate for them.

Right now I'm shipping the power supply for my machine to Chicago for repair$... Could be 10 days before I get it back...

saw this thread pop up again so i figured i'd post a random project i made a few weeks ago with these dies. make some fan brackets to hold a fan to the top of a door frame to bring in fresh air. i have a rope tied to the handle that i can pull and it swings the fan up out of the way in case something i drive in is too tall to fit under it

1.25" made on my 14" Cadillac lathe.

More dimples:

https://scontent-lax1-1.**.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfa1/v/t1.0-9/11391221_10153394772654168_2620943207217622891_n.jpg?oh=753e5497f1ebfbacbd77f3b751f7a025&oe=55EC6305

Also decided I wanted an easy way to repeat my angle, so I nailed a 35* setup, so I can just chuck it in the lathe and indicate in the compound to my angle.

Thanks for posting your dimple projects guys, looking great.
I love how a dimpled hole brings a project to the next level.
I will have more dies available, hopefully before it snows...

Need someone to convert these to make velocity stack

I believe velocity stacks are spun on a lathe using a mandrel.
There would be to much metal to move in my opinion..

Hello all!

Darn, been a while hasn't it?! My Son and I have been machining our brains out silly since Sept.
I have dies in stock and have had material on the floor to make standard sized ones since Aug...... but
In my line of work when someone hands you a box full of bits to machine and gives you a cheque with another box when he picks up the first box. Hard to say no when he sais how soon can I bring you more.$$$
I hope it lasts forever!!

That said, I am having issues getting my money out of paypal because of technicalities due to my location. I am on it right now, should be worked out eventually..

When I know for sure it all works. I will make my dies and other stuff available directly from me at my new web site. Hang in there guys.

I have a Hawke chassis waiting for some dimpling lovin in the shop. But the machining is sucking all my time.

Nasty, dimple dies are on my tool list for 2016. You knock out your work, make some good greenbacks, take a vacation, whatever you need to do. I'm a patient person. quick question to whom ever answers it first. The pipe size are for nominal pipe size correct (1/2" is 7/8" od, 3/4" is 1 1/8" od, 1" is 1 3/8" od, etc)? Standard is 1/2" is 1/2" kinda thing? Thanks

started to fit a windshield washer tank in the truck and wanted to hide the cheap looking plastic a little bit. I still need to find a 2 1/2" die for the top hole to accommodate the washer tank cap

Dimpleage from the bed cage:
So many DIMPLES! IS the drivers side gonna get the extra plate work too?

I like the Cargo/step/doorstep contraption. Very creative solution. I almost wish I would have seen it before recently buying a step ladder for our camper. But it was good I didn't because I definitely didn't have time to make one before the last trip. Maybe a future project though. Thanks for sharing!

The trucks been done since 2008 :)

I really like the porch/step. We've been using it for a couple of years now and it's excellent. I would however have shaved some weight and used thinner wall tubing building it, instead of just what I had to save some weight. It's a pain to move without a second person.

Nice Dimpleage guys! Thank you all for keeping this thread alive.

By popular demand, Fellow GJ members, here is my new web site made by my 19 year old, where you can get my dies. http://www.r-fabriplus.com/

You should find all the specs and info you need in the store section.

Adam, I will add the individual sizes shortly. Still many on hand.

There are about 15 sets of Pipe sized dies left from the last run and I'm all out of the Standard sizes for now. First come first served.
I do have lots of material waiting to be transformed gathering dust on the floor though. I should at least cut it up so I stop tripping on it....

Let me share with you how I dimpled a 3 1/2'' hole in Aluminium a while back with my HF knock out punch kit.

Firstly I drilled a 7/16'' hole in the sheet to allow the 7/16'' mandrel to fit through In order to punch out a 5/8'' hole.

This so the 5/8'' mandrel could be used to pull the 3 1/2'' knock out.

Le big knock a out!

I love this tool. Nice and clean hole.

A little deburing is easier to perform prior to dimpling. Saves the dies a bit as well. Specially if your using steel sheet.

All my dies mount right on the HF setup if you have one.

I've had many members ask me about the amount of force to apply while dimpling.

Initially you will get something that looks like this. The thing bows the wrong way. Don't worry.

Keep applying pressure until it flattens out and your good. Be careful on Aluminum, if you keep adding tonage beyond this point. You may start to print into your part. a bit of testing never hurts.

Et voila!

Well it turns out the biggest knock out is exactly 3 1/2'' dia. You can use a hole saw.

The Shavive are great deburing tools but mine are of the Vargus brand.
There just as sharp!.

Got around to finishing the FF dimpling repair project. Here's the follow up.

Tore off the old.

There's some times still a little bow left in the sheet when making a row of dimples. In this case Im using 18G. Cold Rolled sheet metal.

This is how I deal with releasing a little stress.

Much better!

Testing the fit prior to trimming.

Ready to rock n roll once again.

I was planning on turning some dies next week but of course I just got an order for 6000 bushings asap!! On top of all the other lathe work they had already given me last Monday:willy_nil. About 14 days I guess, good problems..

I'm having Paypal taxing issues and just don't have the time to take care of it right now, so I turned it off temporarily. I really am trying to get er done. It kills me to walk by the material on the floor every day.

I have to say I bought a set for the HF knock out and absolutely love it. I spend time looking for things to dimple. I highly recommend these dies and for the money and ease the HF hydraulic is a good way to go too.

thought I would bring this thread back to the top. I made a couple new shock tower brackets to make room for some new QA1 4 way shocks and a way to mount the clicker reservoir at the same time . happy with the way they turned out light and strong was what I was shooting for.
