Nice Dimpleage guys! Thank you all for keeping this thread alive.
By popular demand, Fellow GJ members, here is my new web site made by my 19 year old, where you can get my dies.
http://www.r-fabriplus.com/
You should find all the specs and info you need in the store section.
Adam, I will add the individual sizes shortly. Still many on hand.
There are about 15 sets of Pipe sized dies left from the last run and I'm all out of the Standard sizes for now. First come first served.
I do have lots of material waiting to be transformed gathering dust on the floor though. I should at least cut it up so I stop tripping on it....
Let me share with you how I dimpled a 3 1/2'' hole in Aluminium a while back with my HF knock out punch kit.
Firstly I drilled a 7/16'' hole in the sheet to allow the 7/16'' mandrel to fit through In order to punch out a 5/8'' hole.
This so the 5/8'' mandrel could be used to pull the 3 1/2'' knock out.
Le big knock a out!
I love this tool. Nice and clean hole.
A little deburing is easier to perform prior to dimpling. Saves the dies a bit as well. Specially if your using steel sheet.
All my dies mount right on the HF setup if you have one.
I've had many members ask me about the amount of force to apply while dimpling.
Initially you will get something that looks like this. The thing bows the wrong way. Don't worry.
Keep applying pressure until it flattens out and your good. Be careful on Aluminum, if you keep adding tonage beyond this point. You may start to print into your part. a bit of testing never hurts.
Et voila!
