Would that be these?
[Craftsman] Ohio Steel 24659 Loading Ramps

$280 regularly, now unavailable for shipping or pickup (unless you live near one of the apparently few stores to still have any)
I don't think I've ever seen Sears go to 90% off on anything, wow.
I picked up my scribe today. Ordered on 2/16 and got the email that it was ready for pickup on 3/30. What's 6 weeks among friends?![]()
Was expecting a story about more store closings this week, but this just as bad.Apology for posting this here. This is not a deal.
I am guessing this thread are watched by people who buy stuffs at Sears pretty closely, so it will be a good place for PSA.
Sears and Delta customer data may have been exposed in cyberattack
http://money.cnn.com/2018/04/05/news/companies/sears-delta-data-breach/index.html
Sears and Delta said they were informed last month that some of their customers' credit card information might have been compromised during online chat support provided by a software company called [24]7.ai . Both companies said the transactions were made from September 26 to October 12, 2017.
What is interesting my last few order seems to be delayed 1 week. I do not mind waiting most of the time, but I can see this can be annoying if someone need to have their order by certain date, and the item is not ready for pick-up.
They were 4.20 a month ago online.
Yeah that's just plain incorrect. The Taiwan small version was $4.20

However the larger USA ones being referred to were never lower than $17.99 according to the price tracker. Totally different set of pliers.

Moot point anyway now as they show out of stock in my area again. Meaning anyone outside of the mid west/south east probably can't order them anymore. So happy I pulled the trigger on 2 of them when I had the chance. They just uploaded the tracking so I know they are on their way. Being back out of stock, I'm thinking I'm pretty sure to get a USA set.
Just got a pick up email for a set of Knipex 6" Cobra pliers I ordered in February. Better late than never. Going to have to retake my pliers collection picture now.
Picked up the Irwin extension screwdriver yesterday. Nice addition to the lineup.
Obviously any data breaches are bad for the people who are affected, but this seems quite mild compared to what's happened with a lot of other major companies. Details are limited, but sounds like the only people affected were those who both made a Sears/Kmart order online and chatted with their outsourced customer service during that 2.5-week period. (I doubt they asked anyone to provide credit card info directly in chat, they just pull up your account with all your saved info any time you connect with them). To me the worst part is that the outsource company either took 5 months to realize it happened, or waited 5 months to tell their clients!
As for store closure announcements, I still expect another round of that within the next week when the currently-in-progress liquidations wrap up, but good news is it's rumored to be mostly Kmarts this time.
Not everyone has credit card info saved in their Sears/Kmart account.[/I]
The information is saved if you make a purchase online using that account. Even if you delete it or don't save it to the account, it is retained in the account but is only visible from their side. This information is based on reports from CS and security people from SHC, and personal experience, about two years ago.

Interesting, thanks. I haven't tried anything like that with chat myself, and don't know how often how many people were trying to place orders through chat.Doohickey said:Since many chat agents are eager to place an order for me, I just asked one about letting him place an order. Here's what the chat agent had to say about the safety of providing a credit card number to him in a chat session:
"All information entered during a chat session is safeguarded using SSL encryption. You can be assured, Sears is committed to the security and confidentiality of customer information."
Has anyone ordered this before? I do not really have a need for it right now, but I am tempted to order just to see how they will ship this![]()

$13.99 regularly, $12.59 online sale with the current 10% off through tomorrow, never seen it go below 10% off so if you want one now's the time to order

Man that sure is nice... But I only know how to use my triangle to draw perpendicular & 45 degree lines, and use as a guide for my circular saw...![]()
Yay! My long-awaited red rafter square has arrived! (Went OOS locally last year, waited months to order it for the ETA to drop below 30 days, then after I ordered it in early March, the ETA got delayed another week.) And shipping my order to the store seems to have come with a bunch more of them actually making it back onto store shelves - my two closest stores, and a third store within the 100-mile radius, are all showing you can "pick up today" now for new orders.

Of course the pick end was poking out the side of the box too because it was just loose in there.I bought one of those several years ago. Sears didn't bother with a box, they just taped the shipping label to the bar with clear packing tape. It arrived undamaged. Though I imagine the sharp unprotected point did some damage to other packages on the way.Has anyone ordered this before? Craftsman 2 pc. 10" and 7" Locking Plier Set with Cushion Grips
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-2-pc-locking-plier-set-includes-10/p-00945712000P
$29.99 regularly, $19.45 'online only' sale, including the 10% off that ends on 4/7
This set includes 2 models that aren't included in the other 3-piece set which gets more/better sale prices; and only 1 of the 2 are available individually. This is the first time I've seen the 2-piece set below ~$25. The rubber handle grips make them nicer for non-welding uses.
...
Also, I was looking at the strut spring compressors, and I was wondering, is that really that good of a deal? According to the reviews, they're made in Taiwan, and seem to be better quality than the ones made in China, which you can find very cheaply on Amazon and eBay and pretty much anywhere else.
For example, you can find a made-in-China set complete with case for $25.99 on Amazon, like this Neiko set. But you can also find a made-in-Taiwan set that appears identical to the Craftsman for $29.99, which you can optionally buy with a plastic case for $35.44.
Are the Craftsman ones better? I'd probably bite if they had the option to buy it with a case. Unless they're any different though, it seems like $27 is a pretty normal price.
