Would that be these?
[Craftsman] Ohio Steel 24659 Loading Ramps
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-loading-ramps/p-07124659000P
$280 regularly, now unavailable for shipping or pickup (unless you live near one of the apparently few stores to still have any)

I don't think I've ever seen Sears go to 90% off on anything, wow.

I picked up my scribe today. Ordered on 2/16 and got the email that it was ready for pickup on 3/30. What's 6 weeks among friends? :)

Ordered my scribe 2/11. Was supposed to be here 3/15, but was delayed until 3/30. Not sure when exactly got at the local store, but I pick it up today during lunch.

What is interesting my last few order seems to be delayed 1 week. I do not mind waiting most of the time, but I can see this can be annoying if someone need to have their order by certain date, and the item is not ready for pick-up.

Apology for posting this here. This is not a deal.

I am guessing this thread are watched by people who buy stuffs at Sears pretty closely, so it will be a good place for PSA.

Sears and Delta customer data may have been exposed in cyberattack

http://money.cnn.com/2018/04/05/news/companies/sears-delta-data-breach/index.html

Sears and Delta said they were informed last month that some of their customers' credit card information might have been compromised during online chat support provided by a software company called [24]7.ai . Both companies said the transactions were made from September 26 to October 12, 2017.

Was expecting a story about more store closings this week, but this just as bad.

However, I don't give out my credit card info over their chat service.

If a person needed something by a certain date, they wouldn't buy from Sears... lol.

Obviously any data breaches are bad for the people who are affected, but this seems quite mild compared to what's happened with a lot of other major companies. Details are limited, but sounds like the only people affected were those who both made a Sears/Kmart order online and chatted with their outsourced customer service during that 2.5-week period. (I doubt they asked anyone to provide credit card info directly in chat, they just pull up your account with all your saved info any time you connect with them). To me the worst part is that the outsource company either took 5 months to realize it happened, or waited 5 months to tell their clients!

As for store closure announcements, I still expect another round of that within the next week when the currently-in-progress liquidations wrap up, but good news is it's rumored to be mostly Kmarts this time.

Just got a pick up email for a set of Knipex 6" Cobra pliers I ordered in February. Better late than never. Going to have to retake my pliers collection picture now.

Picked up the Irwin extension screwdriver yesterday. Nice addition to the lineup. Also received the 3 gal water jug. Solid plastic build, but the downfall will be the spout at some point.

No $ out of pocket on any of this though, so a big smile anytime I use it.

They were 4.20 a month ago online.

Yeah that's just plain incorrect. The Taiwan small version was $4.20
https://www.shopyourway.com/craftsman-hose-pinch-pliers/502748848

However the larger USA ones being referred to were never lower than $17.99 according to the price tracker. Totally different set of pliers.
https://www.shopyourway.com/craftsman-2-5-in-hose-pinch-off-tool/292190

Moot point anyway now as they show out of stock in my area again. Meaning anyone outside of the mid west/south east probably can't order them anymore. So happy I pulled the trigger on 2 of them when I had the chance. They just uploaded the tracking so I know they are on their way. Being back out of stock, I'm thinking I'm pretty sure to get a USA set.

Good, that's what I thought. I got two (maybe 3 now, uh-oh) pairs of the cheaper Taiwan ones, and paid around $5 a piece recently. Would have grabbed the other if they were that low, but they won't be seeing much use from me anyway. I'll probably grab them if I can though.

Ha.. please do share the picture

I picked up my screwdriver yesterday. I really like it. Seems well built! Last I checked, I think it was still on sale for $12.

Not everyone has credit card info saved in their Sears/Kmart account.

Since many chat agents are eager to place an order for me, I just asked one about letting him place an order. Here's what the chat agent had to say about the safety of providing a credit card number to him in a chat session:

"All information entered during a chat session is safeguarded using SSL encryption. You can be assured, Sears is committed to the security and confidentiality of customer information."

I mentioned the store closings because new reports of individual store closings are already starting to trickle out. I figure there's got to be a big list about to be released.

https://www.bizjournals.com/tampabay/news/2018/04/05/another-tampa-bay-kmart-is-closing.html

EDIT: I hope a lot of rumors from store employees are just nervous speculation.

Not sure why they're putting these on sale now, because stores around me are already sold out. Maybe one of you will have some luck. (Made in USA, and no sign of new foreign COO replacements)

The information is saved if you make a purchase online using that account. Even if you delete it or don't save it to the account, it is retained in the account but is only visible from their side. This information is based on reports from CS and security people from SHC, and personal experience, about two years ago.

That's correct. They like to keep track of all address/phone/payment info you've ever used, so they can use it to check for duplicate accounts. The 'hidden-saved' stuff like that hopefully wasn't accessible to the outsourced chat people, just the internal employees, but we don't know since the data about what happened is so vague/limited. If someone ever breaks into that internal system, a whole lot more people will be having a whole lot more problems. :eyecrazy:

Interesting, thanks. I haven't tried anything like that with chat myself, and don't know how often how many people were trying to place orders through chat.

Yay! My long-awaited red rafter square has arrived! (Went OOS locally last year, waited months to order it for the ETA to drop below 30 days, then after I ordered it in early March, the ETA got delayed another week.) And shipping my order to the store seems to have come with a bunch more of them actually making it back onto store shelves - my two closest stores, and a third store within the 100-mile radius, are all showing you can "pick up today" now for new orders.

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-red-rafter-square/p-00938608000P
$13.99 regularly, $12.59 online sale with the current 10% off through tomorrow, never seen it go below 10% off so if you want one now's the time to order

Has anyone ordered this before? I do not really have a need for it right now, but I am tempted to order just to see how they will ship this

Ludell 60 in., 14 lb. Slate Heavy Duty Bar $21. Free shipping for over $25 so will need some filler.

http://www.sears.com/ludell-60-in-1...lerId=SEARS&prdNo=35&blockNo=35&blockType=G35

If you still have a local store, it's coming up as available for ship-to-store for me, no filler needed that way.

There's a ton of positive reviews for it on Amazon and HD:

Man that sure is nice... But I only know how to use my triangle to draw perpendicular & 45 degree lines, and use as a guide for my circular saw...

Same here, but I'm hoping to learn more, downloaded all the manufacturers' instruction booklets I could find as PDFs a while ago for future 'study' - Dewalt, Empire, Irwin, Johnson, Swanson.

Website shows ship-to-store, but I noticed these red rafter squares were in-stock at the store earlier today. They were Made in China.

They also restocked the USA pry bars and nail pullers I posted this morning, but website still shows OOS for that store. :headshake

The Nextec multi-tool was probably one of the more odd items to see back in stock at the store. :headscrat

Over in Lawn & Garden, a shelf full of new Craftsman 75' rubber garden hoses stood out because of the nickel-plated couplings. They had a hexagonal shape, and were Made in USA of US and global components. :shocking:

I Ordered one in the fall. Wrapped in brown wrapping paper and placed on the front porch. I think a plastic was wrapped over that but don’t remember .

I bought a pick mattock once, came in a HUGE box, probably 5' x 2' x 3'... all filled with styrofoam peanuts. Of course the pick end was poking out the side of the box too because it was just loose in there.

Someone at SD got a $7 off $7 coupon/offer (unclear) in-store at Kmart on Friday. Haven't heard any Sears reports for this weekend yet. Anyone making an online order should watch for $x off $x freecash offers too, based on the last week or two.

Craftsman 2 pc. 10" and 7" Locking Plier Set with Cushion Grips
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-2-pc-locking-plier-set-includes-10/p-00945712000P
$29.99 regularly, $19.45 'online only' sale, including the 10% off that ends on 4/7
This set includes 2 models that aren't included in the other 3-piece set which gets more/better sale prices; and only 1 of the 2 are available individually. This is the first time I've seen the 2-piece set below ~$25. The rubber handle grips make them nicer for non-welding uses.

I bought one of those several years ago. Sears didn't bother with a box, they just taped the shipping label to the bar with clear packing tape. It arrived undamaged. Though I imagine the sharp unprotected point did some damage to other packages on the way.

No big list yet, but a few closing Sears were recently announced individually:
Wilmington, NC - liquidation Apr 6 through late June (being demolished for the mall to remodel)
Boardman, Ohio - liquidation Apr 27 through mid-July (Sears chose to close this one for their own reasons)

did you guys actually miss the 'Mayhew' deal on zoro?

Well, that was 4 years ago, and a much longer size... I assume you're referring to that thread for the tales of shipping woe in the later pages? ;) Even with what sounds like an attempt at better packaging by Zoro with tubes, they had problems too. The 'wrap it in brown paper and lots of tape' method someone received from Sears might actually be the most successful.

I was going to get this set, but then notice Craftsman Strut Spring Compressor Tool is now available for $27.24 + free shipping with the expected date April 18, so I have to jump on that :rocker:

Earlier it was only available for store pick-up, with the date somewhere in mid-June. A pretty decent deal imo.

Locking plier set is going to have to wait until I have more points. Crossing my fingers and toes that I get $10 freecash like last weekend purchase!

you guys are just a bad influence on me. I just keep using the points and buying more stuff... the 6 piece 84T ratchets with extensions was online sale for $63.91 yesterday, and I had $30 free cash for instore purchase only...talked to manager and she let me pick up the 3 piece 84T ratchets without the extensions for the same $63.91, used my $30 free cash and paid like $37 for them. Was super stoked.

They are stil available for that price with instore pickup if you can wait a couple weeks

You are lucky, those 84T ratchets I thought disappeared from the website, they must have found some more. The regular 84T set says unavailable...

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-3-pc-thin-profile-ratchet-set/p-00944992000P

The set you linked is active but no shipping and no stores within 100 miles for me... :(

I looked up my old purchase for them, base price was $42.99 before points (Purchased Jul 10, 2017... probably some 4th of July sale).

Probably better you grabbed them at that price though, with points and stuff that's a very reasonable price and likely those ratchets will disappear again pretty quick.

There's a member in the "Wanted" section looking for a set of those 84T ratchets, he had his set walk off... :(

The Craftsman cantilever toolbox is currently on sale from $24.99 to $18.96. I've been watching it for a couple years, and never actually caught it go on sale for more than 10% off.

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-18-in-cantilever-tool-box/p-00921111000P

Also, I was looking at the strut spring compressors, and I was wondering, is that really that good of a deal? According to the reviews, they're made in Taiwan, and seem to be better quality than the ones made in China, which you can find very cheaply on Amazon and eBay and pretty much anywhere else.

For example, you can find a made-in-China set complete with case for $25.99 on Amazon, like this Neiko set. But you can also find a made-in-Taiwan set that appears identical to the Craftsman for $29.99, which you can optionally buy with a plastic case for $35.44.

Are the Craftsman ones better? I'd probably bite if they had the option to buy it with a case. Unless they're any different though, it seems like $27 is a pretty normal price.

I got the impression they're pretty much interchangeable regardless of brand, but the advantage of the Craftsman ones is having free money (SYW points) to throw at them, which you can't use on Amazon. ;)
