Do we need to own different brands of Torx bits?

I was working on a Mercedes-Benz vehicle and found that my Snap-On Heavy-Duty (Gold) Torx Bits fit somewhat poorly on their fasteners. I heard thru the rumor mill that Snap-On's gold Torx bits do not work very well with MB fasteners; something to do with the head profile of MB's torx fasteners...

Which brands of 90 tooth combo ratcheting wrenches are made by Kabo?

As the title states, I am looking for a set of 90 tooth combo ratcheting wrenches but most brands seem to lack the "signature Kabo brass screw." Matco's 9-series has it, but I prefer to not pay Matco's prices for them. Thanks.

    Snap-On FHF80A vs. FHF80 - changes in length?

I am considering a FHF80A ratchet. During research, I learned that the FHF80A is longer than the original FHF80. FHF80A: https://shop.snapon.com/product/Dual-80-Technology-Flex-Head-Ratchets-(3-8%22)/3-8%22-Drive-Dual-80-Technology-Soft-Grip-Standard-Handle-Flex-Head-Ratchet-(Red)/FHF80A...

    Snap-On Cynergy 100 vs. Dual 80 Ratchets

Rumor is that newer batches of the Cynergy 100 teeth ratchets are less problematic than the early ones. I am in the market for a FHF80A…but curious if I should get the FHF100 instead. Price is essentially the same. Thanks.

GW 90 Tooth Flex Stubby Ratcheting Wrenches

https://www.gearwrench.com/all-tools/wrenches/ratcheting/86870-10-piece-90-tooth-12-point-metric-stubby-flex-ratcheting-combination-wrench-set Are these new? They appear to be a true 12pt ratcheting end instead of spline. Open end also appears to have some type of anti-rounding technology.

Matco ADV Impact Sockets = no longer Sunex?

For the record, I am not advocating for one option over the other. However, folks keep saying that Matco ADV impact sockets are just relabeled Sunex. I don't think that is true - look at the Matco ADV 10mm vs. the Sunex 10mm....they do not look the same. I wonder if the Matco ADV line is now...

    1/4" dr Magnetic Sockets

Looking to add a set of 1/4" dr magnetic sockets. What works well? I see the Sunex 1831 set. Snap-On appears to sell singles, but as usual, curious if they're worth the premium.

    Williams USA pricing vs. Snap-On

Let’s say you have an opportunity to purchase some new Snap-On impact socket sets at a great price, but they’re still 60-100% more expensive than a comparable Williams USA set. For an item that you’d be keeping forever and using as a hobbyist, is it still worth spending the extra coin for SO?

Matco Impact Sockets (not ADV) vs. Snap-On/Williams USA

I have an opportunity to purchase a full 1/2" dr set of Matco's Opti-Torque Pro Impact Sockets (not the ADV's) for around the same price as a comparable Williams USA set. My understanding is that these are now Made in Taiwan instead of the US. COO doesn't bother me too much as long as the end...

Ratcheting Wrenches - which styles do you use?

As the title states, which styles are most commonly used for your type of work? I personally use the extra long, Kabo (sold under Mountain, Icon, Platinum, etc. brands) double-box flex ratcheting wrenches more than anything else. I rarely find the need to use any other style of ratcheting...

Torx and Hex Bit Sets in Foam Tray

I am looking for a kit of Torx, E-Torx and Hex bits in a Foam Tray. It doesn't have to contain every size, just the "most common sizes" for day to day use. Mainly looking for something small and compact for my roll cart. Matco makes a kit, but even at the student price, it is a bit more than I...

Snap-On Bedliner Top vs. Stainless Steel

The older Bedliner tops were prone to peeling, but I have been told that the newest ones have the issue resolved. Supposedly the newer material is also a bit smoother? Curious what y’all think. The stainless steel is easier to clean, but Bedliner looks better.
