Work bench / tool chest combo

I wanted to build a work bench for the home shop for gun and motorcycle projects and after kicking around a few ideas for way too long I just decided to simplify things. I had an area that will allow for 9 1/2 ft of bench so I had a local cabinet door shop lay up a 2 inch thick 24 inch deep...

    Snap On air tool repair

Must be a good time to send in air tools for repair. They lost both of mine and sent me new replacements for the cost of repairs...:) I think this falls into into that category of “good” customer service.

    Wurth/Zebra flex ratchet wrenches

Decided I’d buy a set of these and give them a try as I don’t have any flex head ratcheting wrenches. Those crazy Germans and their “set” though, they leave out the 14mm. I bought the others I wanted to fill out a more complete set. $100.50 for the six piece set, $206.30 for all of it. Nice...

Old tools, peeling chrome, how to strip?

A few years back I was given a fairly complete set of 3/4 drive Proto sockets. All I had to do was dig them up out of the dirt... Pretty rough, even after running them through Evaporust and getting all the rust off of them now they have the remaining chrome flaking. Anyone have any home remedies...

Blackhawk S4 East Texas road trip

Found this one on the Facebook Marketplace a week or so ago and thought it would make a good big brother to the SJ18 I picked up last year. https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=396981 Gotta admit I probably don’t really have a real use for either one but damn they are just...

    Snap On deals for July

I had a set of medium deep metric 3/8 sockets on order recently and they were delivered the same day the Snap On guy handed me the new flyer with this offer. Would that make it “my lucky day”? Needed another 3/8 ratchet for the house anyway...:)

Tell me about this workbench I bought

Had a friend pick this up for me a few weeks back. I've been working on a house and garage/shop rebuild project with my youngest son recently and thought he needed a cool workbench for his shop. We'll strip it and refinish the cabinet and refurb the grinder and vise. Cool lamp too. Brown...

    Another Wilton refresh

I swear I posted up about this one a while back but a search here reveals nothing. Finally making some progress so I thought I would drop back in and see if anyone could help me out in locating a swivel base and hardware that doesn’t break the bank.

Snap on losing their minds? 1/2” impact

There never is a shortage of Snap On threads bashing their prices but I have been replacing a lot of my air tools and upgrading to Snap On recently. As I replace them my old ones are getting passed down to young son who recently came to work for us. I bought a 3/8” air impact a couple months...

Wards Bullet Vise, which one of you...

bought this one? I was hoping no one wanted it as it hadn't budged until the snipers hit in the closing moments. Was going to make an offer after it closed as I seem to be getting a few Wards Master Quality tools in my collection...

    Went to a BBQ cookoff

And there was a bit of a flea market going on. 2 dollars got me a rusty 12 inch Wards Master Quality adjustable wrench to throw in my bucket of evaporust and a masonry (?) hammer to go with my pile of hammer handles from the last estate sale.

    Any oil seal gurus here?

I need to find some fork seals to fit a dirt bike that uses a 39 mm Showa fork. Seal dimensions are 39mm id x 50mm od x 9.5 mm tall. Can’t seem to find anything but a 51mm od which would require machining the fork leg. Anyone?
