    Car dolly

I build these, it’s nice because I can jack the project using the cross piece and put jack stands under it so working on those lower panels is easy. I don’t like having the piece that runs between the front and back, it makes working under the project difficult. I added a picture of some I made...

Beginner question on removing mill scale

Mill scale, rust, paint this does it quick, and does not remove the steel itself.

    Dewalt 20v chain saw

How long have you had it? The wife’s Dewalt leaf blower did the same thing. Called them and once they found it was still under warranty I sent it in for free and a new one showed up a couple weeks later.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I know a lot of you will cringe, I bought a bed frame at Goodwill for $10 and built this tire rack. I planned it out so I would only have to drill 3 holes. When it came to cutting I used my band saw and pushed it through slowly. I did use some scraps of angled stock I had to make it long enough.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Never liked how high the running boards were on my truck, lowered them 1 and 1/2". I simply cut the stock brackets and welded in a piece that was an inch and a half in width. I also had to cut and bend some aluminum to cover the exposed brackets.

    Show us your welding projects

Not too big of a project. Bought this aluminium sled deck for an 8' truck bed for a really good price. I new I would have to cut it down to fit my 6 1/2' bed.

How to bend 16ga sheet metal?

When bending 16 gauge I usually scribe it with a cut off wheel in a angle grinder first. If a true 90 is needed a thicker cut off wheel is required for 16 gauge. Using a couple pieces of C-channel in a vise really helps, I use the top of the C-channel as a guide for the cut off wheel. This is...

    Off road engine hoist

Wow this is an old thread, the last time I used the pneumatic tires on the hoist was in 2020 to bring parts of a snowmobile trailer into the shop. I don't have any new pictures and today the hoist has the casters on it. The parts I used are really crude and I would make it more refined if I...

    Ball bearing runners

It's actually pretty easy and IMO well worth it to switch to ball bearing slides. Removing the spot welds is the most irritating step but with a pneumatic mini sander the process is fast and doesn't leave a hole in the drawers or cabinet. I mark were the spot welds are with a sharpie and use...
