Not trying to hijack, but when acid-etching the floor and trying to keep it off metal surfaces, what is the safest way to do this to my floor for my metal building? The baseplate that goes all around the base of the building will definately get acid on it...is this ok?

I went out and bought 6 of these last night. The first two I pulled out and put bulbs in both have a hum to them so I guess I'm bringing them back. Did yours have a noise? What are some good 4ft t8's that dont hum?

What I did in my old metal building was screw in 1x4's to the bottom of the roof purlins and lay the bats of insulation on top of them in between the purlins. Never had any problems and worked pretty good.

Sorry I should have provided more details. It is a pre-engineered bolt together steel building and the roof is 26ga galavlume. What is the best way to keep the sheets in line so I am not too far off once I get the ther other end. Each side is going to take 20 sheets each. Thanks....
