Threw some paint on one of the above pieces today. I'm not sure whether it's an improvement or not.

    My First Tool Box

Also had a new in the crate single four barrel SOHC Ford engine. Ran it briefly on the street in a '63 Ford Galaxie. Traded that for a bunch of guns. This was all close to 50 years ago. Who knew how much that stuff would end up being worth?

    My First Tool Box

I had four different engines in mine. It started out with a 327/300. I did an engine swap for a '63 409/425 . Several years later I pulled the 409 and put it in a '23 T bucket I had built. I replaced the 409 with a 283 for a time, and then installed another 409 which was in the car when I...

    My First Tool Box

I cleaned up this Craftsman 3 drawer tool box I bought new back in 1963. I used to haul it around in the trunk of my 1962 409 Chevy. The small decal on the end of the box came with an Engle roller cam I installed in the 409. I wish I had kept the Chevy instead of the box.

Collection of CNC Plasma Cut British Motorcycles

I agree that anyone buying the dxf files would likely start selling finished pieces. Also, the number of prospective buyers of $10 dxf files would likely be far less than those who might purchase the end product. Unfortunately, with the price of steel these days, coupled with the amount of...

Any thoughts on whether it would be smarter to sell the finished pieces or the dxf files?

Collection of CNC Plasma Cut British Motorcycles

I have plasma-cut a number of bikes, which include the following 19" long examples: BSA Gold Star, Vincent Black Shadow, Matchless 500 single, Ariel Square four, Triumph Bonneville TT Special, Norton Commando, Indian Chief (USA), and early Triumph Thunderbird. I am not selling these. This is...

CNC Plasma Cut BSA Gold Star

I owned a BSA Gold Star back in the early eighties. This plasma cut version I cut out today is probably as close as I'll get to another one. This one is about 19" long.

    CNC Plasma-Cut Haunted Houses

I don't think so. Maybe if you had someone mass produce them, and were able to sell them as a set for each holiday for several hundred dollars.

    Metal Lathe. Looking for advice.

I posted this in another forum, but thought it might be useful here. In a previous life, I bought and sold used machinery out of a ship container to make a few extra $. I kept the stuff I liked most, at least for a time. During that period, I owned both Clausing and Rockwell 12" x 36" lathes...

jeepinerdeep's shop fab n project thread.

Bought the Walker Turner bases and Delta tables off eBay. Columns are 2 3/4" DOM tubing. Added table height adjustments pirated from old Bug-O torch holding equipment.

I've had these for a while!

These may not be the oldest tools here, but at age 81, I've owned them for a while. S-K 1/2" drive ratchet I bought used in 1955. I paid $4.50 for it, which was a whole day's work as a movie theater usher. Craftsman 1/2" drive torque wrench I bought new in 1963 Ford monkey wrench that came...

Sorry for the delay in responding. Mine is 27" wide without the handle. I bought the roll-away and box together used about 20 years ago for $1,000.

Easy Storage Cart for Bluebird Engine Hoist - Crane

Bluebird engine hoists are used primarily by rental facilities. There are thousands of them out there. They are very solidly constructed and assemble/dis-assemble quickly without tools. The problem is that if you don't have a Bluebird storage cart, you have to lean the parts up in a corner or...
