    Garage chair / stool recommendation

Good grief, it's a chair.. You should be sitting on it, not putting it in your mouth. Prop 65 is more or less a joke these days, it's on everything. Hell, eat enough spinach or salmon and you have to worry about lead or mercury... Lead is only one of hundreds of chemicals listed in Prop...

    Air Compressor Electric Shut-off Valve

Is this for a business? If you are worried about it, you could go for an industrial quality ball valve actuator like the Valworx. Not cheap though... These are only powered to open or close, so no failsafe but it just operates a standard manual ball valve. If the power goes off it just...

    Hvacpartsandmore.com

Yeah, I didn't bother to mention that, but I did call a couple places around here and they wouldn't sell to me (homeowner).. One guy gave me the number of another place, but they didn't do anything with carrier/Bryant stuff... Something like this I would like to buy local, even for a...

    Hvacpartsandmore.com

The draft inducer motor on my Bryant furnace is on its way out, so searching for parts has led me to hvacpartsandmore.com... Anybody order from them before? The part I need is nearly $70 cheaper here than repair clinic.com...

    heating and cooling 12x24 shed

I've never heard a through wall unit that wasn't annoyingly loud... With a mini split, all you need is a 3" (or so) hole in the wall and run power. For the outside unit you can just set it on a concrete paver or sometimes just hang it on the wall. I also dislike through wall/window units...

    Propane Tank Recommendations

This differs depending on where you live; my uncle bought a house here with a fairly new tank (I don't remember the size, but it was about 6' long) with an ASME stamp, but no one would fill it. He finally ended up having to pay one of the suppliers to remove it and drop one of their own tanks...

Speaker wiring, splitter & amp recommendations

If you don't need independent control, the cheapest way to do this is to use a 2 channel amp such as this one: https://www.parts-express.com/behringer-a500-reference-power-amplifier-2-x-300w--248-749 Or from Amazon (in Stock) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CZ0RL0/?tag=atomicindus08-20 With an...

Conductor Taping ID - NEC rules

I think it is anything under 4 (or possibly 6), but it also applies to the ground (green) as well. This post edited by the NSA

Speaker wiring, splitter & amp recommendations

Re: Speaker wiring, splitter & amp recommendations First, what is your definition of cost effective? The other important question is what is your music source (CD, iPhone, Android, tape deck, PC, etc? There are several ways to do this, but the cheapest ones won't allow separate...

Show me your shovel and long handled tool storage

I had to build a shed to get all the lawn/yard stuff out of the garage... I don't have a picture, but I just hung all the shovels and rakes and things on the front wall using a section of slat wall and brackets...

    Led light strip question.

That's probably what I would do.. I use the 3m dual lock for this kind of stuff: http://www.itapestore.com/1x2m_sj35503Mduallock-1.aspx?gclid=CjwKEAjwxce4BRDE2dG4ueLArHMSJADStCqMAACcjWMPP0TFAbn_rdkLgFSolGqllb0He3XG2jjQixoCvwnw_wcB Works really well. Actually, if you use to much it can be...

    Led light strip question.

You can use AA batteries, but you will need to use 8 of them in series to get 12v output. Unfortunately, depending on how many lights you have, this won't last long... Depending on how much light you want, your best bet (outside of hardwired) is to grab some of those under Cabinet self...

    stranded wire into recepticle

I'm not sure honestly... Just the way it is. If I had to guess, someone many years ago probably wasn't paying attention wiring an outlet or switch and let a few strands short out... Just conjecture though! We also aren't allowed to install breakers under 20A either (without an approved waiver)

Reconditioned trim compressor at Bigsky tools

No, that doesn't make me feel better, lol! I actually looked again and I found some not so great reviews online for it... How has it worked for you?

Reconditioned trim compressor at Bigsky tools

Anybody have experience with big Sky or reconditioned Hitachi, or at least with this compressor? I've got several Hitachi nail guns that work great, so I'm hoping this will be a good replacement for my old dewalt trim compressor that finally died...

    stranded wire into recepticle

Yes it is fine.. Personally I prefer stranded as it is usually a lot easier to pull through conduit.. OTOH, stranded is a bit of a pain to cleanly get under the ground screw (unless it has a plate like the L/N terminals), but I usually pigtail the ground anyway, so I use either a pre terminated...

Large Washers for 2 or 3 Inch Fittings ?

I've had to do something similar a couple times when I couldn't get the wall thickness ahead of time. I just bought a piece of black pipe at home Depot and had them thread it as far as they could. Once on site we would cut it to length and use a plastic screw on chafe bushing, lock ring and...
