    Snap On from McMaster?

I agree with you 100%; that is how a shop can and many times should be run. Unfortunately, that is not the case where I work. If I were to put any tool on the line that says "Snap On" on the handle, it will be stolen. You see, the issue is not that it is an expensive tool, but rather, it is...

    Snap On from McMaster?

I work at an assembly plant and the tools are not for me. If I put them on the floor they won't be there the next day. It ***** but that the way it is.

    Snap On from McMaster?

That's right. I ordered a couple ratchets from McMaster and I was most surprised when I opened the box. They sent me dual 80's! WTF? I'm afraid I won't be keeping them since they are a little too blingy. None the less, I thought it was funny and it's odd that McMaster's price is less than...

    Butcher Block workbench top...

I've built a lot of work benches with solid doors. Lowes sells them for about $50 a pop which isn't bad. I want to say the part number for the doors we use is 10805.

Is this illegal in a restaurant??

Exactly. You don't have to have produce a UL certified product, nor do you have to install one (unless there is a local requirement for it).

Rate the American Machinists Vise Brands

I would say that the bullet Wilton's should get a 10. The old one's I have used are in great shape despite the beating they take. I have an Athol for home use and can't complain, except for not having removable jaws. Besides that mine is an A+.

    Howard Iron Works Vise

I don't know anything about that vise is particular, but it looks pretty sweet. I would say closer to $100 is a fair price.

opinions on bosch 4100 table saw

It's a bamf. You can get one without the base for about half that price, though. Then, with the money you save you can make a really nice base.

What tap & die sets are still made in the USA?

Good taps aren't cheap, no matter the coo. What size range are you looking for? Do you really need taps and dies? I know I rarely use a die but use taps all the time. You can find a small set of taps with drills from an industrial supply store for a little over a bill.

    Tap and Die

Last week got a set of Hanson taps and dies for around the house/wrenching on my truck. It was a 41 piece set that included machine screw, metric, and standard. I was surprised (happily) that I ended up getting NOS in a red case. The box was marked made in 1997 and everything in the case is...
