Teeing off of propane line in house for garage heater

The furnace in my house runs off a 500 gallon propane tank. I am looking into putting a furnace in the attached garage, and I figure I could either get a 120 gallon tank to set outside next to the garage or I can plumb it into the furnace's line. Is there any problem with teeing off after the...

How to secure black iron pipe as it passes through exterior wall

I'm getting ready to install a furnace in my garage. I would like to use a couple 100 lb tanks to run it, and place them outside on the other side of the exterior wall from where the furnace will be. So I will need a short run of pipe through the wall, then from the point of entry to the...

Heavy Metal Removal in the Field

I bought a bucket that I need to modify for my loader by torching off the brackets and welding new ones on. I got as close as I felt comfortable with the torch to not damage the bucket (still learning), and am left with up to half an inch to grind off the rest of the way. I've been working at it...

    120V/30A for RV from 240V/50A

I'm working on installing a 240V/50A circuit in my garage using 6-6-6 aluminum SER with ground. If I wanted to plug my camper into it (which uses 120V/30A) can I just make an adapter plug so that I only feed one hot, neutral, and ground to the camper? Will I will be getting a max of 50A?

    Diesel Heater Exhaust Location

I'm going to be setting up a Vevor diesel heater in my two stall garage. The ideal location would put the exhaust above my deck in the location marked by the red dot in the attached picture. This location is the corner where my garage meets my house. This location is 54.5" above the deck. The...

    6" Jointer Noise

Just picked up this Shopmaster JO-400. It's pretty noisy when I turn it on, and it looks like there's some play in the shaft that holds the knives. Is this just worn out bearings? Are they easy to replace? Where can I get replacements?

    Shopmaster JO-400 6" Jointer

Looking at this jointer tomorrow. I have reason to believe it is aluminum, not cast iron. Does anyone have experience with something like this? Is it worth it or should I skip the aluminum?

Found this planer for $60, with the stand. I can't seem to find much information on them as far as value, but supposedly in runs, knives are sharp, and table is flat and in good shape. Is $60 a good deal?

    100A Service to Shop

Power from the street comes to a pole on my property, through a pole-top disconnect, then to the house. Folks here recommended the best way for me to get power to my shop would be to splice into the load side of the pole-top disconnect. Power company says I have 200A service to the house (150A...

    Belt-Driven Hydraulic Pump

I picked up a loader for my Ferguson TO20, and I need to find a pump. I'd rather do something belt-driven so I can still tilt the hood open without removing the pump. Does anyone have any suggestions for a pump around 10gpm that has adequate shaft support to use as belt-driven? The pumps I've...

    How does this disconnect work?

I've posted about my pole top disconnect previously in regards to hooking a generator up, but now I'm just mainly curious how power flows through it. It looks to me like power comes from the road to the disconnect, down the pole to the meter, back up from the meter in the same conduit (this...

    Replacing my Pole-Top Disconnect

Currently I have power coming from the transformer on the pole on the road to a pole next to my house that has a pole-top disconnect and the meter.
