    Estate sales

Yes it certainly is. If I had even a tiny bit of space, I would have bought it, but alas I do not. All the stuff in that room was in excellent condition.

    Estate sales

I have historically gone to a ton of estate sales over many years. I try to choose ones that will have a decent chance of having things that we may have interest in. My unspoken goal on each day we chose to go is to find at least one Snap on, Mac, Matco or Cornwell tool. I too find that even...

    Mitutoyo Addiction Thread

The price is very good for what is shown as long as they are legitimate Mitutoyo. My only warning here is that there were a ton of counterfeit Mitutoyo calipers out there about starting a few years ago that were selling on ebay and amazon cheap. This is one video on helping to spot them. Just...

    Vintage X-Acto, Exactly, Exclusively!

Very awesome case on that set. I have not seen one of those before.

Lets make an all vintage Snap-on tool picture thread!

In the group that I acquired, there was either a 5/8" or 7/8" drive sliding T handle that was severely mangled beyond use or repair. There was no maker name or mark that could be found on the handle. The square drive head had a slot in it that the pin would have engaged with. I can't recall...

Lets make an all vintage Snap-on tool picture thread!

I actually had a number of those at one time that I picked up at an estate sale. Sold them a long time ago, but each had that quick release cross pin. All were dated ±1930. Some had damaged pins so I did knock a couple out so I could use the sockets.

Who made it and where do I get a rebuild kit for it?

The Vulcan one linked is patented by Clark Feather Manufacturing Co. https://patents.google.com/patent/US3038247A/en Vulcan was a tool truck brand of Williams, so they must have bought this from someone else. Perhaps Clark Feather?

    Looking for hub puller leg.

I had an older unit from a garage sale missing a leg too. I found that the modern manufactured ones were not the same size as the older one I had. No brand on mine, and sorry no source for you on this one. They are quite commonly available complete these days as very few use them these days...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The Mary Kay Garage

Take a left on Elston and we'll race to Cam's Muffler and Brake! Or in winter we can hit the toboggan slides on Devon. Sadly both gone now, but at least SuperDawg is still going strong. I remember the drag racing. Cops got smart and would sit and wait right around behind the grocery store to...

Post up your Powr-Kraft and other Wards tools

Yes, I try to pick up drag link sockets whenever I find them. One of those tools that when you need it, nothing else quite works.

    Bell system

Estate sale find today. Pens and a package of refills. The retractable one has the Bell System Property nearly completely worn off. Very nice action to the clicker though.

    Vintage X-Acto, Exactly, Exclusively!

PIcked this up at an estate sale today. Has the leaflet catalog inside and a few blades. Must be a bit older, as the fat handle knife shown in the catalog is still the hexagonal aluminum type and not the molded plastic. No date though.

Post up your Powr-Kraft and other Wards tools

Picked this one up at an estate sale today. Looks like the same manufacturer that made the older MAC tools versions. Hit the buffing wheel for a bit, cleaned up extremely well. Stamped 11-79 Quite a few Powr-Kraft tools at this sale. He was certainly more of a Montgomery Wards guy than a...

Lets make an all vintage Snap-on tool picture thread!

copied over from the Forged Steel Products thread. OK, last one I have. Bought these at an estate sale of a late tool salesman. They looked like they were never used, just shelf worn from sitting. That was a great estate sale and I really wish I had bought much much more there. The whole main...

Forged Steel Products Co. Vacuum Grip Pliers Thread--Pre Snap-on

OK, last one I have. Bought these at an estate sale of a late tool salesman. They looked like they were never used, just shelf worn from sitting. That was a great estate sale and I really wish I had bought much much more there. The whole main floor of the house, two garages and a shed were...

New additions at International Tool Catalog Library (Archive.org)

Love it. My hometown. Directly east of the house I grew up in. Right by the CTA train yard and not far from FEL-PRO corp. We had Skokie Paint nearby that had a very similar logo too.
