Kind of bummed using the craftsman thread restorers

Sorry, my camera isn't taking photos well, so I guess I'll try to describe as best as possible. Should have been a simple morning, rear brake pads on my wife's 03 Honda Element with 210k miles. Everything is fine until I go and put the wheels back on, one lug nut makes the impact hammer a...

Window regulator motors, any repurpose uses?

Just finished replacing the window regulator/motor on my wife's Honda Element. Looks like the wires broke off from the plastic parts in the old regulator. The motor still runs. Well, not wanting to throw away a working little 12v motor... Has anyone found a secondary use for these? I guess...

Will I Benefit from a battery tender?

2 daily drivers in the home. Pretty consistently getting 4-4.5 years out of a battery before it effectively dies. We love in the Los Angeles area, so summer heat is probably doing more to deteriorate the batteries than cold. The cars are pretty much driven daily, unless we're out on a week's...

About 6 months ago, bought a 2004 built home. Been fixing up things here and there and I'm now getting to the number address lights on the front of the house that have never worked. Oscillating multitool blades

Do you guys go with your OEM multitool blades, or are there any aftermarket compatible brands you've had good luck with? Ridgid brand blades are $17. On amazon, a ridgid 2 pack is $20. But there are a lot of aftermarket brands that are around $3-$5 per blade. Are any of these worth a try?

    Miter saw size choice?

I'm looking to get a miter saw. At first, bigger seems better. But when I think about it more, I'm not so sure. I've already got myself a table saw, circular saw, jigsaw, scroll saw. I'm adding the miter saw so I can get better precision on smaller work like trim pieces. Was looking at a 12"...

    Mushrooming my impact sockets

So I'm new to the 1/2" impact wrench scene. I thought I was an old school shade tree guy, preferring to work low tech with breaker bars and speeder wrenches for nostalgia. But nowadays as the years pass on, my legs and back get a little bit more sore, and I'm finding my new cordless ryobi 1/2"...

Im thinking about purchasing torque sticks to go along with a cordless electric impact. From what I understand, torque sticks are calibrated with a specific gun / air pressure in mind. Such as accurate when used with a gun generating 375-400ft/lbs. Well, if I have an cordless electric impact...

Plumbing, faucets, and is that really a 17mm nut?

I do my occasional household plumbing stuff, and almost everything is SAE. But every once in a while, I run into a nut - usually on a faucet of some kind, that I swear is best fit by a 17mm wrench. Is this really 17mm? Or just a really poor fitting 3/4, or is it something weird like a 23/32?
