Makita Hammer-Drill Driver in combo kits

Looking through all the combo kits for a gift for Dad and they all they seem to offer is the hammer-drill driver. What gives? If you aren't going to use the hammer-drill feature, should I just avoid the combo kits and just buy a regular drill and the stuff he needs? Surely going to be way...

Tool for mother of all snap / retaining rings

This is what I am faced with: That's about in 3" diameter. Holes are about 1/8" (0.125") diameter. Nothing I have works on something this big. Does anyone make a snap ring plier that will work with this thing? Last I checked, Snap On only makes a 0.090" tip plier. Maybe that will work...

    Better pressure washer hose

Wife proceeded to swing the hose onto the hot exhaust of the pressure washer...bye bye hose. Who makes a more durable, high quality pressure washer hose? I believe my old one is 1/4" with a M22 connection.

    Brake hardline tubing bender

I'm looking for something high quality. I'm about to undertake something I might regret - replacing 21 year old factory bent hardlines. Well, better safe than sorry I guess. Show me what I should buy the bend this stuff. I don't need a flaring tool, just a good bender that does tight radii...

    Transmission / differential holder

Attach this to your OTC engine stand and you have a transmission holder that rotates with the stand. I guess you could use it for differentials, too. Anyone have something similar they use, maybe a benchmount unit? I'm thinking of ordering this one - I think it will come in handy as long as...

Steering wheel puller for 1988 Ford truck

None of my pullers are working as there really isn't anything to grasp onto. What type of puller am I supposed to be using for this thing? The inside of the steering wheel is constructed of 2 steel rods attached at the center. I can't get my pullers behind the rods.

Removing the guard from your angle grinder

Everytime I see these "pros" on TV (and I really do mean everytime) working on something, the guard is always removed from their angle grinder. I assume they do this to get better access to or view of the work piece. Are these guys on a deathwish? Or am I just overly cautious in keeping my...

Hose reel expert needed .... questions

Q1: So if you take a reel that is supposed to hold 50 foot of 3/4" hose, how many feet of 5/8" hose would the reel accept? I would imagine there may be a way to calculate this sort of thing. Or is it gonna be trial an error? Might be easier than way.... Q2: And if the reel is a...
