    Bathroom subfloor materials

It's about time to re-do our 5x7 bathroom and I'm just looking to get some input. For the subfloor, would marine plywood make a good choice? Just looking for a material or possibly a membrane/coating that would reduce the chances of water damage/rot in the future. Unsure if I wanna do ceramic...

    Weber gas grill spring cleaning

Bought mine from the eBay seller you mentioned after reading your post. It was timely today as I was cleaning it and replacing the NG hose after squirrels massacred it. Bars were 5 years old (original) and badly corroded. Thanks for the rec👍

Miter box rec for small DIY projects

Figured I'd see for myself how good or bad this is. Stanley 20-600D. $19 incl tax at HD. First cut was a 1/4" x 3" trim piece. Needed it to be 20.5" long. 90° cut. Made my measurement, used the cam locks and made my cut. Was pleased to see it was dead-on at my measuement; maybe a hair over. Not...

Miter box rec for small DIY projects

That would be a great choice because it will support a 12" board at 90° so I'm not locked in to just smaller trim pieces. Rather spend double vs the standard box but have much greater flexibility. Good find!

Miter box rec for small DIY projects

No worries; I thought about checking HF but I figured I get some choices from GJ, first. I have no problems with the dozen items I bought from them. The 5 drawer tool cart being the gem, for sure.

Miter box rec for small DIY projects

Saw that, too, but need something about 4-5" wide. For smaller pieces, though, looks decent.

Miter box rec for small DIY projects

Looking for something that makes accurate cuts for mostly wood trim and can also accomodate PVC pipe. Very limited use; maybe 10x/yr. Max thickness of wood to be cut would prob be 3/4 to 1". Maybe 4" wide. Many reviews on the Stanley at HD or similar complain about poor or inconsistent angles...

    Remote control light switch

Not really finding what I'm looking for after a brief search. Basically, I just want to turn on/off a bedroom ceiling light and fan. Don't need wifi or motion sensor. Just a simple remote that does power only. No dimmer, either. What would you recommend?

    Nest thermostat concerns

For $29, it seems like a no-brainer. Thx for the rec. One question. Do you notice any power cycling to charge the batteries or maintain the screen? Was reading about that in all wi-fi stats. Of course, the unit may only be off during comfortable weather. I assume if I put the stat switch to...

    Nest thermostat concerns

It's the $99 non-learning version. After re-reading the PSEG website, they also offer the Emerson Sensi Tstat for free, as well. Saw another thread where people were very happy with it. Can actually get 2 offers through PSEG so maybe I'll just return or sell the one I don't keep...

    Nest thermostat concerns

I was able to get the basic Nest thermostat for free from my local power company. Currently have a RiteTemp unit which works fine. I was reading about issues with the Nest and the "common wire" needed to power the display and Wifi. Question is: should I just go with a Honeywell or Ecobee and...

    Cordless screwdriver recommendation for DIYer

Good to hear some users who have the Bosch. It will actually do way more than I originally intended which is worth increasing my budget

    Cordless screwdriver recommendation for DIYer

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084Q4143Y/?tag=atomicindus08-20 Thanks for all of your replies. After watching the videos and comparisons, I went with the Bosch 5 in 1 brushless. Obviously over my orig. budget but the included attachments are what sold me. Will give me options I wouldn't have with...

    Cordless screwdriver recommendation for DIYer

Thanks for the detailed reply. I linked to the DCF601 earlier in my post as one of the ones I was considering. I can get the kit w/2 batt. for $115. And, I like the brushless motor and torque settings. Stripping fasteners always adds time to my projects so worth it to have the right tool.
