Man,, for $50.00 you would turn it down? There are literly thousands of those taiwan drill presses still in use after 30 years!! The major problem with them all was the motors , some didn't last, others are still running. Bad quality control?

Buy it quick for $125.00! They're a good drill press. I have a 15 inch "Canadian" Buffalo, great old press from i think the late 40's-early 50's. At my sons garage he has a bigger "Canadian" buffalo, (both Kitchener ontario) think it is a 17inch if i remember correctly. The flat rewind spring...

Agree also!! Perfect way to dull a file!! For those that prefer a wood handle on their files and have a lathe the best i found to use for this is old pool cues. Garage sale items you can pick up cheap, don't matter if the tips are ruined. You can get quite a few handles out of a pool cue, and...

That's way too much for the average home guy in my opinion. You can learn this yourself, by READING READING READING, and as posted studying Tubal Cains videos. The key to this is to familiarize yourself with the machine totally, DON'T rush into it, take your'e time and pay attention to the do's...

For $400.00 you got a good deal. A fair bit of tooling with it along with the chucks. Most importanly is, it appears all the change gears are there. I agree it does look very similar to an older South Bend. You will get your money back out of that if you decide to upgrade someday. Depending on...

Agree on all of the above postings, Pay attention to the sections on grinding/sharpening cutters, very important to learn this.

R8 is only used on mills. And R8 is everywere, easy to locate and reasonably priced.
