    Old Jigsaw questions

Always makes a project to try and get running/usable again. I enjoy fooling with old stuff like this, a great learning experience, and as posted, there may not be much wrong with it. Sometimes that does happen.

My new used Mini mill Seig x2 and Mods

Agreed on the flycutter. Good thing about the mill it is R8, lots of tooling and resonably priced. I think your'e doing ok with this mill, there are different forums on here with owners of these mills, some pretty nice work has been done on them.

Value? Two Clausing Drill Presses & Table

If they aren't 3 Ph, that is one heck of a good price in my opinion. That cast table would bring more than that.

    Bridgeport/Lathe Price check

Matt, those machines would sell in different areas of the country for very different prices. Some areas , like where i am , machines are very few and so bring good $$. in other areas, where they are more plentifull, not so much. JMO, but the resale value of those two machines will be much...

    Replacing tires on Bandsaw

Agreed, cut with a super sharp razor blade or similar. Just take your time cutting, go slow and carefully. (After the tire is on , or possibly before you install it, although i found that real tricky to stay on the line.)

CL find, Old Blacksmiths Post Drill Press

Any name on the drill? Some of those old drills were pretty strong at drilling large holes in steel plate.

    Bridgeport/Lathe Price check

Just my opinion, but looks to be a decent pair of machines. Sheldon made a good lathe, never had one, BUT, lots of supporters on different forums. Nice pics by the way, you'll get hooked into maching things, a great hobby, or homeshop set up. Your'e off to a very good start IMO.

The obvious risks of buying used tools.

My thinking is a number of people are in economic distress of different kinds, and to try to better their situation, (which could include feeding the family,) they begin selling off things. Lots of unemployed people out there, with not much hope of finding a good paying job. Sad situation.

    Bridgeport/Lathe Price check

Decent price with all the tooling. Didn't see a lot of tooling for the lathe, but if both are in good shape 4K is ok price to me. It will cost you much more to ever buy two machines, then run all over buying the tooling,,, it goes for pretty high prices, not cheap.
