    Exterior Switch Cover

Apologies if this has been answered before; I searched for similar questions and could not locate anything. Anyone have any experience or opinions about this type of exterior switch cover? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F1C6V8J/?tag=atomicindus08-20 It seems too good to be true: uses a standard...

    Knipex at Mobile Distributor Supply

Based on our experience with FedEx since Covid hit nearly 2 years ago, I believe they could and do lose a lot more packages than they used to. And FedEx has become a lot more difficult to deal with when things don’t go right.

    Dan Matsuda

Cool! Can you add some more pics and point out some of the features? I know absolutely nothing about this EDC stuff, but it looks like an interesting rabbit hole.

High lumen garage nightlight plug in for several locations dusk to dawn

How about using the dusk to dawn led bulbs? I got some from Amazon a couple months ago for the coach lights beside the garage doors. Working great!

Correct wire to connect LED under cabinet lights?

Good news! Last evening I emailed the manufacturer’s sales manager for their region that included Tennessee. I got an auto reply that the manager was on vacation. This morning I received a telephone call from an AFX, Inc. customer service rep who provided the names of 2 supply houses that they...

Correct wire to connect LED under cabinet lights?

Crazy? We actually plan to install the lights at the front, not the rear, because we want to use them as task lighting at the counters. Here’s one of many on line sources that advocate such placements: https://www.lightingtutor.com/under-cabinet-lighting-placement-location/ These fixtures are...

Correct wire to connect LED under cabinet lights?

Thanks for all the replies. Some comments and answers to your questions: Voltage: 120 volt Knockouts and connectors for them: the fixtures include a small cable clamp and plastic piece with knockouts to replace a solid piece on the side; inside the fixture are the push in Wago-type...

Correct wire to connect LED under cabinet lights?

Need to install 6 under cabinet LED light fixtures (very thin metal and plastic boxes…not low voltage pucks). Three draw 6.7 watts, three draw 14.4 watts. Designed to have first one hard wired and then up to 10 fixtures can be strung together using proprietary interconnect cables...

Thanks for the mention. We have family near Menards in Ohio and Indiana, so I’ll get to use the rebate.

    Menard's Deals Permathread!

Thanks! I haven’t followed it. Nearest Menards is about 90 minute drive, each way. They carry a bunch of shelving items I can’t find in stock locally and shipping costs are nutty high. So I was going to make the drive and might as well get the 11% rebate. This stuff never goes on sale.

Any guesses as to whether the current 11% rebate will be extended? Current ad expires August 21.

    Rebuilding garage walls

After putting in each sister stud, I’d cut the bottom rot out of the original stud. If you want to keep you nail spacing consistent on the wall you can then nail a replacement for the cut out section to the sister. Around the windows it sounds like you need to remove and fully replace your...

    Bathroom Tile Make-over

Your tile looks like it’s in near perfect condition after over 40 years of use. It clearly does not see rough or heavy use and should be a perfect candidate for the resurfacing. But, if you do want to replace the tile don’t attempt to save the drywall behind the current tile. Cut the drywall...

    Hardwood floor for laundry closet??

Proper leak trays under a washer require a drain connection. Might be difficult to do in an apartment? You can add another layer of subfloor/underlayment to the laundry closet to bring new LVT to the same level as your wood flooring.

    Salt Pits--Fill and Coat?

Sikaflex would not work for that purpose. It’s not a wear surface, more like a flexible, self leveling caulk. When used to fill expansion joints it’s top surface should be below the top of the joint.

    School me on electric chainsaws

Sounds like the OP will use a chain saw occasionally and only for very, very light duty. The 20v Black and Decker should be quite adequate and, with battery, is about $125. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SSLE0QS/?tag=atomicindus08-20 I use mine a couple times a year for light yard cleanup...
