Impact VS. Chrome The Final Word

It isn't stamped on the socket but I've seen it stated on packaging. Then there is Grey Pneumatic's solution, duo sockets made from chrome moly, thin as a hand socket and able to take an impact.

    Tool box trade in issue

383novamike never said that the incident didn't happen. What I took from mike's statement was, that it would be unlikely a LEO would get involved in the case, other than maintaining order with their presence and ensuring the rep got the property back.

    Best mobile socket orginizer?

Sounds like you had a great experience  To the OP, why not get a cheap set from HF for every vehicle instead of taking a set you might care about? :dunno: Just in case it gets lost, falls in a big ole mud pit, or rolls into traffic ;)

    Craftsman workbench - good deal?

IIRC there is no center support which causes it to sag. I dunno if your looking for just a workbench but I would save the $50 and look at something built well, looks good, and affordable.... http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=125381

    Best mobile socket orginizer?

Lisle makes it, you can find em on sale, but they have a strong magnet, and my FIL has used them for his impact sockets for years. If they can survive my FIL then they can survive a nuclear strike

Craftsman lower box: what's it worth?

Agreed, on all counts  To the OP, IIRC the lock on that box only secures the lower compartment not the drawers.
