    Costco - Mr Cool DYI

I'm trying to read up if a 36K would cool a 1,500 sq ft insulated metal building without costing a fortune. Anyone know the performance stats on this one as they pertain to cooling efficiency?

Not garage, but yard. Rotary Sprinkler Upgrade Nozzles

Only in California would they take money from me in the form of taxes to pay you to upgrade your sprinkler system. I think people in Utah are a little smarter than that.

Why No Used Magnetic Sheetmetal Brakes?

I found a post on our local facebook people to people page from a sign shop going out of business and selling three brakes. Two small, around 4' and one 10'. By the time I called him they were sold. Keep looking and be fast.

    Armor Chip

UPDATE - Six Years Later Re: Armor Chip I decided an update was due on how the Armor Chip held up in a private shop with two car builds going on, welding plasma cutting, wood working and chemicals including oil and grease, bleach, paint and lots of mud and dirt. The floor coating is having...

Mice in garage d-con is no more?

Tom Cat pellets or bait packs from Tractor Supply. I made 2" PVC "traps" in the shape of a T so dogs and cats can't get to it and use them inside and outside of the shop. Problem completely disappeared.

    media blast gun recommendation

I tried many of the guns on the market and found that an old champion sparkplug with the internals removed makes a great blasting "gun". Old ones are free and you only need an on/off valve close to the outlet side of the hose. Works great.

What To Do With Old Toolbox?

I turned one of my old ones into a welding toolbox and the other I donated to our local Volunteer Fire Department. They also needed tools so I was able to get rid of my duplicates and older tools I no longer use for a good purpose and take a tax deduction.

    Harbor Freight Cobra surveillance system

I bought my 8-channel from HF and used it for about two years. I just recently removed the recorder to move some equipment and haven't put it back yet. It works well except the wireless connection, never could get it to work along with the motion detector. I just let it run 24 hours a day and it...

Would you rebuild this craftsman compressor?

Mine also burnt up and I kept it for years intending to make a smoker out of it. Lately, I've been paying quite a bit for sandblasting so I made a pressure blaster out of it. I'm putting together a post of the project.

    Rockauto Brake Job Parts

I ordered all my brake parts from them on a drum to disc conversion for a 1962 ford f100. I was sent the wrong calipers for the rear and they sent replacements the next day. I liked using them.

    Building my first garage. Questions....

I did my own plans and drawings including floor plan, electrical, water and air for a 30' x 50' shop. I used a contractor to build the foundation and metal structure. I then did everything else; utilities, office, bathroom and water filter room. YouTube and the internet are great teachers.

Birds go in but they don't come out!

I have a problem I can't figure out a solution for. My shop has three roll up doors, two on one side and one on the other. I tend to have the doors open when the weather is nice like it has been the last few weeks. When open, birds will invariably fly in. Once inside, no matter what I do to get...

    Advantage Lift 4-Post

I used a 16 ft trailer with my pick up. Had to go to a freight forwarder and pick it up. Once home, I had to take the two boxes apart and move most things one by one into the shop. The hardest items were the two red platforms the wheels the car sets on. I have a gantry crane so used that to move...

    Advantage Lift 4-Post

My door height is 12 foot, inside is 12' x a 4.2% rise for the ceiling. That gives me more height in the middle of the shop so I can stand with no problem under the lift while working.

Bathroom In The Shop...Yes or No????

I built a 3/4 bath (has a shower) and it has saved me many hours over the years not having to go to the house. It also serves as a storage location for my pressure washer, electric drain snake, golf equipment, hat storage and rags storage for the shop. Keeps the mess out of the wife's clean...
