    Socket Labelling

Has anybody tried any of those tricks to color in the size markings on their sockets? One I saw had you use an oil based Sharpie marker, then razor blade off the excess. I have a vintage, older model Mark One eyeball and it needs an upgrade. I -should- be able to tell a 15mm from a 14mm in...

    Ko-ken vs. Snap-On 1/4" Ratchets

Comparing the Ko-ken 2725Z & SnapOn T936 1-4" ratchets... I don't own any Dual 80 (72) SnapOn to compare with, but after looking at the Ko-ken, I may buy those for 1/4" instead. Overall, the Ko-ken is much smaller and lighter than the T936 Snappy. Head Thickness: Ko-ken 10 mm (vs. 14 mm for...

    Lafer Reclining Chair repair

I don't suppose anybody knows how to repair the coil spring in a Lafer Reclining Chair - Gaga model? They sent a new spring for a floppy backrest on the crappy but expensive chair - too bad the instructions are unreadable.

    Stain for Exterior Door

I've got a wood door that is pretty exposed - it faces south and gets sun all summer, and gets blown rain during any storms or high winds (rains 6 months a year). It's a real nice clear Doug. Fir door so I hate to paint it. It had Sikkins on it when I bought it 15-20 years ago, but part of...

Clean rust or crud off ratchet

This can be scraped or sanded but solvents don't seem to work on it. I'm trying to figure out the best way to get rid of it (without damaging the chrome on the ratchet handle).

Mystery ball bearing after ratchet maintenance

I found a ball bearing on my desk after opening up a bunch of ratchets for cleaning/re-greasing... Unfortunately I can't figure out what it goes to. It is too big to fit into my 3/8" Snapon Dual 80 (FX80A) - which already has its own ball bearing as I just checked. It is just a little too...

Educate me on Older 1/4" SnapOn Ratchets...

I have 2 older Snap-On ratchets I am trying to figure out. One is a TM75A and the other is a T936. TM75A has a nice small head for great access - 10mm thick and 21.7mm wide but it has a longer handle (date code is 1988 I think). T936 has a nice short handle, but the head is bigger 11.6mm...

    Best 1/2" Ratchet ??

The SK discount thread got me started on a search but I was surprised I couldn't find a thread on this. I don't feel that backdrag is a big issue for larger fasteners (as compared with 1/4" drive ratchets and what they'd be used on), but what else? Swing angle? Smoothness?
