    wondering what this tool is...

Some quick research on an antique farm tool site says its for sheep, hogs, and goats... "The two crossbars are inserted horizontally behind the upper and lower canine teeth then levered vertically to open the mouth".

    US Machine Tool Co. Mill

I looked for 6 months for a small mill but all I could find were way overpriced clausing 8520's and rusty abused millrites. I've got enough restorations going on around this place so I'm thrilled to bring home something that's good to go!

Spindle bearings too... Taper is a Brown and Sharpe #9. It comes with a bunch or collets and a drill chuck so I should be good for what I'm using it for...

    US Machine Tool Co. Mill

I've run across this group in my research, i'll join after I get it home. Seems like the only place with any real info about these units. I had been searching for a Millrite or Clausing 8520 for months now but then this popped up for a good price, ready to use.

Put a down payment on this baby until the weather gives me a chance to bring it home in the next few weeks. Condition is good, everything cleaned with new bearings. VFD installed so it can run on 220v single phase with remote pot for easy speed changes. Built sometime in the 40's I...

Getting a milling machine off a trailer...

Ok so I'm picking up this little beauty in a week or two... Its 3/4 the size of a Bridgeport and weighs in at about 1700lb. The seller can get it on the dual axle uhaul trailer with the ramp on the back. It will be on a pallet secured with lag bolts and strapped in with lots of 2" ratchet...

SHOW OFF YOUR VINTAGE FRIDGE!! post pictures, details and improvements made

In doing some research I found some information that said the ones WITHOUT a defrost don't use up too much power... but once you get into the 50's and up they are energy hogs... Still looking for a decent one but folks in my neck of the woods think they have vintage gold even if somebody has...

Made the mistake of trusting the local welding supply place

The little 120v machines work great on sheet metal, and the cost isn't so bad... I go through 2 bottles a year. Gas shielding is great... makes a weld look great even if there's no penetration, lol! I prefer stick though for thick stuff, really enjoy the challenge of it, it was harder to learn...

    Vintage miller welder ID

Waiting on info from the seller but purchase is looking doubtful with no DC... I'm leaning more towards a Lincoln 250 tombstone AC/DC unit...

    Vintage miller welder ID

Anybody ever seen one of these? Seller states its a model #71 20/185 amp. Obviously its a stick welder, but i'm thinking its AC only... beyond that I can't find any info on it on the web.
