I ordered and installed a Clopay (Home Depot) commercial insulated 10' wide x 8' high door with angle tracks to follow the 3/12 pitch on my scissor trusses. So far I've been rather impressed.

I bought several of the Lenox knives at a "garage sale" event held by a local promotions company. They had lots of tools and were downsizing their facility space. This knife model is carried by HD and other stores- nice an hefty, great ergonomics, and very easy and quick blade changes.

I ordered 4 sets earlier today - will pick them up in a day or two. Atlanta has to recover from Snowmageddon first!

Oh - that just gave me an idea for my shop!

Goo Gone is less aggressive than the similarly named Goof Off. Goof Off WILL dissolve plastic - DAMHIK!

It will probably take at least two dips or coats on the hooks to build up the thickness enough on the smaller diameter hooks.

I've got 18' of scissor trusses on one end of the shop and the remaining 42' are attic trusses. With the 6/12 pitch and 38' span, I have about an 8' height and 10' wide by 42' long storage area.

My 6/12 roof pitch scissor trusses are 3/12 on the interior. I never heard of the "2 pitches apart" rule. My truss company guy suggest going half the roof pitch - and with my 10' walls this still gives me about 15' center clearance on my 38' x 60' shop.

I've received my rebate confirmation email over the holidays. On a side note - has anyone noticed the warranty? The outside of the box clearly indicates a 5 year warranty, however the product manual has a statement that clearly indicates it is covered by a 3 year warranty.

What do you gain by using your lengths of 6', 8', and 4' PT if you are only submerging 42" deep? Why don't you use 4', 8', 4' - that way you purchase 8' length 2x6 PT lumber and are able to use qty 2 per "post?"

HD will match the Lowes 5% off by using your HD card - you just have to ask for the competitor discount. They don't advertise it.

Jason called it! Rough passed. Inspector did ask me to move my ground wire off the outer block in my circuit panel and only use the inner blocks - adjacent to the breaker locations. Something about the most recent NEC making the change since I am using a regular panel and not a main lug...

ah- 4 in Stock - just got 1! :) Thought about ordering 4 and selling the other 3, after rebate my cost would be $0, but the wife thought otherwise.

Rough inspection is scheduled for Friday! I guess I'll find out then if I've done wrong.

I don't see any issue with it. I chose to put my outlets up near 48" off the floor. I wanted the wiring higher - so I don't have to stoop to drill the holes and run the cable. Chalk it up to my hope for efficiency (or maybe just laziness).
