    Misc. Tools Peavey Manufacturing Co.

https://peaveymfg.com I recently bought my BIL a Peavey Timberjack as a b-day gift. He does a lot of tree work and likes supporting USA business. From what I read on the site, the company has been open 160 years in Maine and are the original. Most people call any handled log hook tool a...

Made in Canada 18" stillson pipe wrench

Picked up this thing today. It says Made in Canada, has remnants of a blue paint on the handle. Both the wrench and the jaw have a J in a diamond. Oh and it's also stamped CNR for Canadian National Railway which is kind of cool. Any idea on maker?

Vanadium Tool Co. #309 mason's pointing tool

Found this at a yard sale, it was cheap and I don't see Vanadium stuff very often in the wild. But i wasn't exactly sure what it was, lol. Turns out it is a tuck pointing tool. (I call them strikers and I've only ever seen the stamped variety) I've never seen one like this, maybe I'm just...

Interesting little wood and brass tool box/case

Found this at an unplanned stop before work today. Didn't really want the drills, but I got it as seen for a 5 spot. Measures approx 15-1/2" × 5-1/4" × 4-1/2" No markings visible but it needs cleaned. The carry handle looks like a drawer pull, but the small bolts holding it on, and all other...

    Show your vintage Lufkin tools

Lufkin machinist tools, tape measures, rules...it is all welcome here. Pratt & Whitney machinist tools also, since they are related. Lufkin is special to me personally because a Lufkin depth micrometer was my first ever machinist tool purchase, and I still use it to this day (pics tba)...

    Buck Bros. leather grip hammer

I'm guessing this is an Estwing. The grip design is a bit different. No. 7-16, appears to be a 16 oz. rip claw. Very sweet feel to it. Off topic: also got the Hinsdale TL-1, Crescent 3/8 set, 1988 Mac Tools 50th anniversary catalog, and a Sheldon #3 rapid acting woodworking vise. All from an...

    International Forge Co. 3/4 ratchet

Picked this up today, some kinda funky Craftsman variant. Looks almost nickel plated. Selector looks newer. Detent ball is sunk. Works well. Came with an unmarked sliding T drive stud, and 2 rusty sockets. One is a 5 band Plomb Los Angeles pictured. Didn't find much on Google.

Stage Junk Ultimate Ratcheting Focus Tool

Discovered an interesting tool today (just saw it, didn't buy it). Not surprised I've never seen one before, as I'm not a stage lighting tech. Reminiscent of the vintage special purpose refrigeration ratchets, with multiple different sized openings. Also a pin splitter and continuity tester...

Proto Metric ASD combo wrenches - skips?

Perusing CL, found an ad for a "15 pc Proto Metric wrench set, 7-32mm." The set skipped a lot of sizes, and I just figured seller had lost them or something. Turns out, it is an actual Proto wrench set. J1200P-MASD. Includes: 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29, 30, 32...

The Canton Malleable Iron Co. adjustable

I picked up this adjustable years ago because it was made locally, and I'd never seen one before. I rescued (bought) it from an artsy boutique type craft store my ex dragged me to, I'm assuming they are the ones that took a brass wire brush to it. Anyone else have anything made by The Canton...

    Stewart-Warner hand tachometer no. 757-W

Got this off the bay for my dad's Christmas gift, as I caught him drooling over a beat-up and wildly overpriced example at a swap meet earlier this year. This one is in very good condition! Thought I'd share.

    Columbian c-clamp

Picked up this neat looking c-clamp tonight. Met a guy off Letgo to buy a Reed vise. He had a bunch of other stuff for sale, but nothing else caught my eye besides this clamp. It opens 3" and has a 2.5" throat. The "wings" are a separate piece of steel that is swaged into the spindle.
