    Hitch Pins on Chain hooks

Is it a bad idea to use hitch pins instead of cotters through the clevis pin on chain hooks at the end of chains? Sometimes I need to pull a hook off to feed a chain through something, generally to chain it to a trailer, a hitch pin (I always called them Jesus clips) would make it much easer...

    Eco Air meter repair

Does anyone have any experience with these? I have one that I can't adjust the pressure on with the control knob. It turns a bit and won't go below 60lbs on the dial. Before I take it apart I figured I would ask.... Thanks for any input you may have, video at link below...

Hunter RL Alignment Lift unbalanced when going up or down

I am trying to figure out a problem with an older Hunter RL 7000# alignment lift. Going up one side sags. Going down it is the same, the right side appears to be the problem. I have the manual, I have disassembled the 4 way valve and the 2 way valves and they all appear to be in good...

Good evening, I was over a friend's new house tonight and noticed a water stain on one of the ceilings. We went up in the attic and his AC unit was leaking, there is a pan under it but the leak was outside the coverage of the pan. Can anyone tell me what he is looking at here? I have read a...

    Compressor Not Starting - Buzzing

Good Afternoon My dad's compressor is an old Champion, 5HP 240V Single phase with a magnetic starter. Sometimes (often I would say) the compressor will try to start and it sounds like the starter is pulling in and it just buzzes, if you turn it off and on with the pressure switch switch it will...

    50 Bucks at NAPA

NAPA is giving me a coupon for $20 off $50 for my bday and I am a sucker for a deal. What would you buy for 50ish dollars at NAPA. Doesn't necessarily have to be a tool but that is probably the direction I am leaning. What is already a good value there? Thanks for your thoughts!

    Wilton Bullet vs Tradesman

I ran across a guy calling his 1765 Tradesman a Bullet Tradesman. I always figured the machinist vise is the bullet and the Tradesman is the mechanics vise. Is it correct to call the Tradesman a bullet? It seems to me the one that looks like the bullet is the bullet. Wilton presently lists...

I love these Olsa Ratcheting wrenches

I had a bolt on a first generation Acura MDX power steering line bracket (center of the car with no clearance) that I needed an 6 point zero offset 10 mm wrench. It was also rusty and getting rounded. I struggled with it for quite a while and couldn't find a wrench to make it work, and I have...

    Compressor HP Question

Hello everyone. I have a Champion VRV7-8 compressor that has a 7.5 HP 3 phase motor on it. I need to change the motor to single phase. I am wondering what I would lose if I went to 5HP with the same RPM? I don't exactly understand what the benefit of the larger horsepower if you are running...
