    Bend-Pak Overhead Safety-Switch warning!!

I have a Bend-Pak XPR-10 2 post lift that I bought and installed last October. No problems with it so far, but today I was doing a Periodic Inspection and found a serious electrical safety issue with my lift, and after calling Bend-Pak they are aware of it and said "it is in QC for review"...

stacking Whalen (Costco) 2,000lb industrail shelving units?

Has anyone thought about stacking 2 of the Whalen (Costco) shelving units? It would sure help me take advantage of 'wasted' vertical space in my shop. Thinking about different ideas on how to attach the legs of the two units together....maybe 4' sections of unistrut bolted inside each leg...

BendPak XPR-10, issue with safety latch

Just get my XPR-10 lift assembled and working. Everything is working correctly with exception of the the 'off-side' safety latch. I cannot get the safety latch to move enough to allow the carriage to go down. In its relaxed position it appears that the safety latch goes to far into the...

    2 post BendPak install hints/tips?

Getting ready to install my BendPak XPR-10 2 post lift and just wondering if anyone can share any hints/tips on their install. The one thing I am curious about is BendPak has you run the lift cables and hydraulic lines prior to standing up the posts. I have them run, but how in the heck are...

    Width between 2-post lift colums

I have a BendPak XPR-10 (a symmetric lift) lift on it's way to me - can't wait...no more working on my back on cold concrete! Anyway, with this lift you can configure it in 2 different widths when assembling it - a narrow configuration which has 105.5" between the columns and a WIDE...

how far is your 2-post lift from your shop walls?

I have a BendPak XPR-10 2-post lift on it's way (thanks Mystic195 for the great pricing!!) I am wondering how close to the front/side shop walls have you placed your 2 post lift? The Bendpak manual shows a minimum of 11ft in front of the lift, 13 ft behind the lift and 6" on either side to...

BendPak Low-Profile arms vs regular arms

Pros/cons of the BendPak Low-Profile arms vs the 'regular' arms? Considering a XPR-10 lift from forum member Mystic195 (great prices btw!) but am undecided on the arms. I will be lifting a number of different vehicles (Mini Countryman, Porsche Cayenne, Triumph TR-6, Jeep Wrangler Rubicon...

    room needed above a lift?

I am looking at a BendPak XPR-10A-LP (2 post, asymmetric clear floor) which is 145" tall. My finished ceiling is 146". Is that enough room to actually install the lift and make whatever connections are required on the top crossbeam? Or will I need to raise the ceiling in that area? Thanks.

mounting subpanel to allow future expansion

I have a weird question...... I am having a shop built that will be drywalled & spray foam insulated (2x6 exterior walls) and the basic wiring will be romex run thru the walls as normal. However I will be adding additional circuits as I build out the shop (mill, lathe, lighting, etc) over...

Shop Heat & A/C options for Boise, ID area

I'm moving to Boise and having a house and a 1500sq ft insulated shop built (12' ceiling height) and looking for A/C options. I think the area is dry enough for evaporative cooling, but my builder has no experience with them and say most folks don't cool their shops. I come from the Mojave...

For those of you that have used this product (several posts back in 2006/2007), how has it held up? I am curious as to how it handles oil drips...will it stain or not? Thanks. -steve

FOUND! No RFI T8 Strip Lights at HD

I just bought and installed 6 Lithonia Lighting 8' T-8 strip lights (4 bulbs per fixture) from Home Depot. Absolutely no RFI...not one little peep. These are installed at the peak (16') of my steel-arch Steelmaster building. I even brought the radio right up next to the lights and no...

Muratic Aicd and steel!?!? Concrete Prep

I have metal base-plates all around the perimeter of my new 1500sq ft shop...so how would I prep the concrete for a epoxy floor? It seems that using muratic acid would be out due its reaction with steel. The concrete is new (8 weeks), so I really don't want to grind. Any other suggestions...
