I wouldn't even know how to choose!
But if I had to, it might be the guy with all the Ferraris. Don't remember who that was though.

EDIT: Just found it. motodavid2000. Other being The Hot Rod Grille. Very tough choice for me.

that's tough....there need to be categories.

We've got working garages, showroom garages, entertainment garages.....and for what it's worth, I like them ALL. Different strokes for different folks.

I like three:

Thomas' Restored 1930's shop as noted above.

NUTTSGT's restored gas station and house.

and

Cincinatti firehouse #51
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=75379&highlight=firehouse

With all due respect to the various "Garage Mahal's" in here, these guys took something old and generally less than desirable, and through a lot of hard work (mostly from the owner as opposed to a team of contractors), they have made them into special places.

For Best in 2010 I would argue that the garage should have either had the majority of the construction done, or a major overhaul done during 2010. There have been some amazing builds listed (like the M House or Jay's Fab Shop), but they were done prior to 2010.

My vote would be for for KYGTP's brick garage - it's large, took lots of planning, and he has gone to the extra effort on all of the details. (http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72023)

I also really enjoyed seeing the details going into 993James993's Arts & Crafts style garage (http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54654)

Although BB767's 1930's Garage was actually restored several years ago, I'd still include his with as much work that he is still putting into it, and the fact that he first started posting in late December 2009, yet his thread has over 2300 posts so far! Cool50,

Thanks for starting this thread! As a result I have seen some great garages and projects that I had missed before. I've also noticed many of the ones mentioned here have started appearing on the front page again.

So many great garage/workshops on here.Probably many I've not seen yet.My favourite at the moment, without a doubt,is Kiwi Kev's,even though he seems to have an unhealthy fettish for gas pedals!:lol_hitti
Great place with lots of character and,of course,**** loads of cool hot rod stuff.

Among my favorites are NUTTSGT, 12-Guage Garage, Kiwi Kev's, Modern Garage in Far East, west of Philly - barn saving , motodavid2000, 70 Yr old couple building a barn (garage/workshop), The Breeze Place, ... (no real order of preference and lots more could be added, but I don't want to hog space). I feel like I've traveled around the world this year, meeting some fantastic people along the way! Every place has a story to tell, and pictures don't hurt either. Isn't GJ great?

Its has to be kiwi's. Lots of good stuff this year but thats the coolest garage ever. Such a unique space with such a cozy, home-like feel to it. I dont think there are many folks who wouldnt want to drink a beer and hang out in there while working.

I love all the garages here!
My favorites has to be all the Gas Station and old shop Garage's.

BUT...there is something about "spinning" a good story about life, projects, and mixing it into a garage thread...from a place far away from my home has me intrigued, inspired, and smiling at the fortunes of life in a different world.

I vote for Grizz 1963 "Mixed Grill"!!!!!

Truely the most interesting thread to hit the internet!
Congratulations Grizz and thank you so much for the pictures and posts of your life in England!
You are a celebrity to little old me in the surburbs of Chicago.

I love this thread!!! .....

So many great garages, and many of my favorites have already been mentioned. I didn't see a link to my top choice though.

Chris's (HIRISC) garage condo had me drooling from start to finish. Just so many great ideas on so many levels.

Mine is the best, because it's mine!!!

Best answer so far..Mine is the only one I am allowed to work in. It is not the best by far, but it is mine.

Jacks, hands down. Making due with what ya got and making it work.
Oh ya, and he didn't put a racing stripe on his walls... really? Just how fast can your garage run?

The racing stipes are actually for when you had a few too many and need to find your way into the house to use the bathroom, in a hurry. Or you could just pee on the side of your garage, use a pee bottle, or the trusty Wet/Dry vac..I'm not sure what Jack does, you'd have to ask him. I'm sure he's got a device that folds down from the wall..He just hasn't posted it yet..:spit:
