Andy, not really hiding. Just going through the winter hum-drums I guess. If you look close, you can see the fishnets hanging next to her poster.
Sub, nope the WOC has not gobbled me up. I think it is starting to relax now that it's getting a chance to rest. I mean how would you feel if you got shoved around every time your caretaker came into the room. They have had a hard life and it'll take some patience and a lot of soothing talk to make them feel safe and away from all the abuse that was dealt to them over the years. He already admitted that when he got them, they had 5" casters on them and I can assure you they're only 2" now. That's gotta be rough on a little box.
So aside from all that. The dodge transmission also had the reverse band all but gone. So a new band and a couple of lock rings has brought it back to the front. I was trying to post some more picture but something isn't cooperating. I'll try again later. Right now I have to go get rid of the snow gift that Mother Nature so kindly left for us to deal with. Thanks for stopping in guys.

Dan,
The paragraph on the WOC ranks top 10 in my best GJ comments.![]()
I'm glad things are settling down.

Glad to see you out and about, I'm having those winter blahs myself. For some reason this winter seems to never end.Have a great day.
I stand corrected! From that angle they just look different than my wallpaper...

Time to head south for some sunshine!

I agree Dan, always shoved around, stripped of handles then all crammed in a corner while he was coddling the new shiny foreigners ( they prob sensed that the new ones were made with parts of thier family) and then to be herded into a dark box ( box in a box)and shipped to a ungodly cold place with white stuff everywhere.
I'm sure there coming around, you saved them, like a rescue dog from the pound.
Yep, we spend hours beating the PO and Dan nails it with one paragraph![]()

Trying to hide something?

Dan you missed out. If you would have put the DP on the truck that picked up WOC, Gerard would have had the DP freed up by the time the WOC made it to the Georgia line.![]()
Dan, great to see the DP back inaction, well done..
Regards
If I get a chance I'm coming down to see wall of craftsman, live and in person
Hey Dan, I've been pretty much MIA from the GJ for a while, so I've only caught up with the last few pages of your thread - so I hope that I haven't missed any major events.
How did you free up the DP?
Yeah, so how did you free up the dp?

Great job on the drill press! I guess I didn't see it very well before. What is all the mechanism below the table? Looks like a pretty fancy elevation device instead of just sliding on the post. What is behind the sheet metal cover under the table?
I see chips on the lathe but they're blurryTrying to hide something?
Seriously, it's got to be good to finally put it to use. Even simple jobs are gratifying because they are much harder without a lathe. I'd be hard pressed to make that pin using an egg beater.
More chips, more chips, more chips![]()

Dan, that's one massive four post lift..and an alignment rig to boot. Nice
I see you had your share of old man winter this year and are likely as happy about Spring as we are here!
I could never quite figure out the old tool thing until I bought a 40 yr old Dewalt radial arm saw and experienced the build quality. Nice work on the drill press.

It would of been shorter too!
)Winters are not a much fun as they used to be when I was a little younger.

omygosh!!!! I havn't laughed that hard for awhile (woc). I had movie mans voice in my head for that whole read...
"this winter... One man, one curse, many boxes..."

But the calendar certainly has my approvalDan
I think this is what Rod was referring to:

I've only seen it used once, and on a diesel at that, but by golly it worked well - the thing fired up!
Lyndon
Yes I know I've been slack lately - but I've got a really good excuse. . . Honest injun!
Dan, my vast experience in convertible tops involves owning four and installing one. I replaced the convertible top on the '87 Corvette 22 years ago because the tan paint on the original white top was coming off and the rear window was opaque. The local upholstery shop wanted $1,500 to install a $300 top so I figured "how hard could it be?" Turns out the glued-in weatherstripping has to be replaced for another $300 so It's really a $600 top. I have fortunately forgotten the details of that install but I do remember fighting to get the top to smooth out. Because I keep the car in the garage, the top is almost always down and folded up. It therefore takes a set and wrinkles in the vinyl take a long time to relax. I do know that the sun is a big help. Here is the top moments after I put it up outside (1:21 PM) and you'll notice those familiar ripples in the vinyl window:So without a clue (normal for me) I decided to give the top a go. I did enough reading so I at least thought I might be able to pull it off. Well an old friend of mine used to say that "anything worth doing is worth doing twice". It looks like I'll be going back in and do some re-stapling. I don't believe that sucker is going to stretch that much.

The curtain seems to be okay, but the top should have been further to the sides. The thing that ***** is the back bow has to come out in order to staple it, and is a real PITA to get in and out.
