    Finally Bought A Tool Chest!

I used a box like that at the Southern Bell Telephone shop from 69-78 as a fleet mech. When I left, I bought a new one like it I have in the basement. Great box for SAE & Metric, but short on room to carry both sizes. It is the best "bench box" that SO has to offer. Hope you like your as...

    Tool Box Id? SO,Cornwell

Re: Tool Box Id? I have a Cornwell that looks like it with chrome pull handles and casters under it. Mine features, when the bottom drawer is SHUT it locks all the other drawers. I also bought new, a matching 6 drawer Cornwell top box to fit on top of it. This was in the mid-60's.

    What is this?

I don't know what a duckdo does, but if the truck was hit in the front and damaged the steering, maybe this was a front-end part to act as a wheel stop when turning.

    Gearwrench Quality

As the USA is failing in production, GearWrench seems to be a Fine Asian replacement. I like the wrenches I have in the GW line and they look good, too. It looks like the next generation. PS. I learned to swim at Kingsley Lake near you and also went to many other area lakes in your area in my...

Scored on vintage mac tool box?

Very interesting stuff from "way back" and a nioce small size box. It's not a beer can holder, beer was bottled back then; that bracket is to hold an oil can pumper. I had one a long time back mounted to the work bench, my dad bought it. It came with a Plews oiler.

    Ye old grease gun

Don't paint; just let it stay a little greasey on the outside so it will not set to rusting.

    Anyone else like Channellocks?

Channellocks are like potato chips, Just Can't Have One. If I keep getting them, I'm going to have to start a second drawer for storage.

New SK wrench set just arrived - Review and Pics

I got several boxes of S_K/Proto tools that I use. Some are 50 years old plus and maybe scratched and worn, but I have never broken wrench or socket(six point). These tools are made to turn nuts and bolts and not expected to lay around and look at like jewerly. Quit being nic-pickey and...

    Quality grease guns?

I use an Alemite 500 with a whip hose, no problem. I also fill with a 5 gallon bulk pail of grease. Just a little messy to reload, but you can't very well do "greasen" in Sunday clothes. Just keep a throw-away rag handy and wash your hands when you finish.

    Show me motorcycle mechanic tools

I had dirt bikes 35 years ago and I too had a lot of trouble changing tires n' tubes on the AL rims. I guess they are still a PITA.

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

This red SO box was used to hold guide tools and grinding stones for a valve seat grinder set. I have one much like it only a little taller. I bought mine in 1964 and it was old then from a former auto shop.
