    leaking floor jack question...

yes, another leaking floor jack question. The jack works fine, except it dribbles oil when its being pumped up. It holds my truck up fine, with no bleed down over short periods of time. It is leaking from the ram (?) or main piston. How difficult is it to fix this leak- I do not want to rebuild...

so, I bought a couple of jacks on CL today...

and I really only need one. Which one of these two would you keep? The orange one is an "Allied," and the bluegreen model is a "Blackhawk." They both work very well, especially compared to the **** jacks I have been using all my life. The reason I bought both is because...you know...the price...

    Cornwell roller cab value?

Am rather familiar with SO and MAC roller cabs from all the info here, but what about Cornwell? This came up on my local CL and is the same width as a 2-bay box. How does Cornwell compare with the others as far as quality and warranty issues? Thanks. http://bend.craigslist.org/tls/2449120702.html

Craftsman 40" tool box combo $379

Recieved this in an email from Sears. It is the quiet glide type slides, but still, it is very cheap for a 40" chest and box. Now that HF is no longer taking coupons on their tool boxes, this is $300 less than the HF top and bottom box... unless you must have BB slides.

    HF compresssor question

if any of you guys have one of these small compressors, I would like to know how many minutes it takes to fill the tank, from completely empty. I will be using this only for airing up truck tires (to 35psi) and blowing dust and dirt around the shop on off a mountain bike. Of course, I did ask...

    value of used compressor?

I have a Craftsman 2hp, 20 gal air compressor that I bought new about 10yrs ago. It is belt drive, and has a 110/220v motor. I have used it mostly for inflating tires, and running brad and finish nail guns. I do not use air tools for auto work. It has had an easy life, and spends most of its...

    drilling hole in HF "metal"

I have a small HF vice that I am thinking of attaching to my tool cart-possibly without the revolving base. That means I would have to drill another mounting hole in this "metal" of unknown orgin. Would it be considered risky to drill thru this stuff? I don't want to crack it. After all, it does...

    help me resist this temptation...

for this 41" stainless bb griplatch tool chest...that I really don't need. Its at my local Sears, in the scratch-and-dent room, and it does have a very small dent, and a couple of scratches. Even the salesman didn't notice the dent until I pointed it out. Keys are included. Its marked down to...

    HF 3-1/2" vise $2.06...

using a coupon of course. Hahaha. It is on clearance. Ok, its called a home shop vise, but after cleaning up a bit up excess paint, it actually works rather well, for lightweight stuff. I plan on mounting it on my tool cart. If nothing else, I probably got $2 worth of red paint and a free...

anyone hear of "TACTIX" roller cabinets?

saw this 72" model at the local Big R ranch store the other day. Its about 20" deep (didn't measure it), and drawers are at least as solid as the 42" HF model. They are selling for $1099 and best of all, they come in black only.

    repairing cheap floor jacks?

Have an old floor jack that used to work quite well. Now, I can't get it (to go) up. Removed the small piston connected to the handle and found a broken part. The question is, are these parts available, or would they cost 1/2 as much as a new Chinese jack? Thanks.

I believe it is some kind of puller. The only name on it is "ZIM." What should I be pulling with this thing?

value of 54" roller cab with faded paint?

http://bend.craigslist.org/tls/1623466394.html. This is a large roller cab, 54" x 29" deep, ball bearing slides, about 15yrs old, the guy says everything works ok, the paint is just faded from the sun. Is this a good deal, if you can live with the paint, as-is...

? about ball bearing drawer slides

I have an older MAC tool cart. When pulling out the single drawer, it will stop about 3/4" sooner on one side than the other, leaving the drawer tweeked at an angle. To say the least, this is rather annoying. I do not see any adjustment for slide travel. Do the slides need to be replaced, or am...

Value of used Bluepoint roller cabinet

Is a 10 yr old Bluepoint roller cabinet still worth $1000? This was a CL listing, for a 54" X 24" X 38"H box, ball bearing slides, in okay- could use a cleaning- condition. There seem to be a lot of newer (say, less than 5 years old) SO, Mac and Matco boxes for sale these days, asking prices...

    removing overspray from roller cabinet?

any easy way to remove paint overspray from an older but totally functional Kennedy roller cabinet? I have tried paint thinner, tar remover, and fine steel wool, with no affect. The good news is it seems the brown wrinkle finish appears to be indestructable. I did a search and it seems that the...

CL roller cabinet- deal or no deal?

this appeared on cl this afternoon. It is an old Cman roller cab that is structurally square and solid- all drawers work. The slides are the pre-quiet glide models, which always worked okay for me. There is a bit of rust on the bottom, and a few of the drawers have dings or small dents in them-...
