    can this Wilton be saved?

Found an old Wilton vise with a "misaligned" moving jaw. The slide is straight, but the head is at angle that doesn't allow the main screw to fit thru the opening. Is there any ghetto fix for this, or is it headed for the junk pile? I know it is only a lightweight vise, but the prior owner sure...

    Vise advice needed...

I picked up an old Athol vise, which works great, except the base does not rotate at all- it is rusted to the vise. It appears that the center screw is also rusted in place. What are the odds of getting this base apart, in one piece, with either vinegar or PB blaster? Thats all I have...

    Wilton Shop King vise ?

    Which vise to keep?

One has to go! Colombian 504-1/2, 4-1/2" jaws, weighs 44lbs, fixed base, vs. Babco, made in Japan, 6" jaws, weighs about 60lbs, rotating base with lockout. Babco is in better shape- has seen less action and abuse, but the Colombian was probably a more solid vise when new. So...which would you keep?

Value of Erem Swiss pliers, anyone?

I have a couple of Erem pliers, made in Switzerland, that I have had for years. I noticed that the new versions sell for $80 to well over $100. I gather that these are precision pliers for electronics work. Any idea what my pliers are worth, to sell? Thanks.

    vise value, please

how much is this Morgan Milwaukee 4" vise, worth, to sell. It can be mounted as a fixed base, or on its 360 degree rotating base. Weighs 58lbs. It was probably made in the 70s or early 80s, and has had very little use, but the original owner did do a quick paint job on it. There are just too...

Vise with repaired lead screw usefullness?

I picked up this old Columbian 4-1/2" vise, cheap, the other day. Everything checked out okay, except the lead screw has been welded where the threaded section meets the nonthreaded section. The guy at the welding shop says it looks like a decent repair, and should hold up fine as long as I use...

I've lost one of my balls!(vise related)

how to fill in dings in vise anvil surface

Any easy way to fill in dings in the anvil on a vise (hopefully without a welder)? Purely cosmetic, but the rest of the vise is in great shape, so, why not do a complete job. Thanks.

    Vise value, please?

this is an older Cman fixed-base vise, appears to be in good condition, but could use a cleaning. It weighs about 30lbs, and has 3-1`2" jaws. The guy was asking $100, based on his ebay searches, but knows that is not realistic in this area. What is a fair value for this vise- it is a Columbian...

    CMan drill press pulley removal

Recently got an old (relatively old) dp off cl, and need to remove the front pulley to access the top compartment. The nut is reverse threaded and comes off easily. Then what? Is the pulley threaded onto its shaft, or does it lift out on the shaft? I tried both of these, using gently force, but...

    Prentiss vise jaw removal

After using wd40 and some heat, i managed to remove the screws holding the front jaw in place, but I can't remove the jaw. I've tried tapping with a hammer, solid hits with a 3lb hand sledge, heat, and some prying. I don't want to break anything, as the vise works fine as-is. Any suggestions?
