get some brake grease for the pads, and brake clean the rotors before you put them on. it's also probably a good idea to change out the brake fluid if it hasn't been changed in a while.
congrats on the new job! bring your safety equipment, a flashlight and get to know the older guys and see what they use. just get the basic stuff and work your way up.
+1 for astro 40sl. you can it put it where you need it. It's bright enough, and it'll last a couple hours on medium. the magnet is also very strong. overall a great light.
I think it would be a good idea to see if you can find a similar one and see how you like it. check the paint condition and how the large drawer holds up with a lot of weight on it.
you don't have the buy mac one it if you don't want it.
I think of the digital ones as a two in one because you don't have get a torque wrench and a torque angle meter. It is also nicer because it has all the different units of measurements.
I found a old craftsman flat head screwdriver in the shop, and it was pretty beat up already. i cleaned it up a bit, and it gets beat up even more now! so far, it hasn't let me down.
i have the bluepoint one and it works fine too.
