    Old Emerson Electric Motor

I’m no expert but I’m guessing this old man is toast unfortunately. I’ve never seen one this bad, how the hell does this happen?

    Old Emerson Electric Motor

I’m currently breaking down this old Herman Nelson Fan Propelled Unit that hangs from the ceiling. The unit itself was produced in 1930. I plan to restore it. This Emerson motor seems to be seized but I really didn’t put much force on it before I could ask for input. I’d like to keep it if...

    Advice

My elderly customer broke their new garden sprayer and I’ve rigged it up something good except I need to reinforce where the bronze meets the rubber so it’ll stay together as tight as possible. Water leaking won’t be an issue but I need it to stay together. What method would you all use? I was...

    Harvey Hubbell

Hell yeah, you just use the basics as far as image searching? Google, lens, eBay lens? I tried a few times and only found one example for a box of like 12 on charish or one of those idiotic sites.

    Harvey Hubbell

Well yea, this piece was salvaged from a site built in 1902 and abandoned in the early 70s then it sat for decades leading up to it’s demolition so I don’t think there’s a modern piece to be found. I rarely find one of these that’s glass, usually they’re all a very hard plastic.

    Harvey Hubbell

Anyone familiar or and collect old Hubbell products? I was doing some salvaging this past weekend and came across this Hubbell glass lens or as I later found out is called Annunciator Component/System Signal. I collect a lot of old glass stuff as well as industrial type switches so I happy to...

    Antique “Nutting” Triangle Dolly

Yep, I think about all the good stuff that ended up in landfills over the years and it’ll make you cry. Like all the old antique hardware that used to be in old houses, tiles, glass etc. That’s why I’m grabbing as much as I can now

    Antique “Nutting” Triangle Dolly

Finished product. Little ******* was filthy. All the hardware took a good bit to get clean, wish I could’ve gotten the wood a little cleaner but I think it looks better and I’ve erased a couple of labels making that mistake years ago.

    Antique “Nutting” Triangle Dolly

Good evening all, I was able to dumpster dive and explore some old long abandoned spots in the city today and luck would have it I saw caster peeking out through a bunch of weeds so I pulled it and it was this thing. It was solid black when I found it but I gently cleaned it up a bit to reveal...

    Old Chicken Wire Window

Finished product. Now I just have to carry this heavy ******* up the back steps to the man cave to be with the other industrial dinosaurs I've spent too much time on restoring.

    Chicken Wire/Safety Glass Sash

Good evening, I'm currently breaking down and restoring an old wire glass sash. I collect several types of glass but the industrial stuff is my favorite. This one had a few coats of paint over the last 80- 100 years so I really needed to break it down fully to get it back to how it was sold...

    Old Chicken Wire Window

Better keep an eye out now bc if you buy it retail it's not cheap. I'm one of the few weirdos that collects it so I always jump on it if cheap. Your typical 6 pane sash can go between 280-500

    Old Chicken Wire Window

That's a negative but I buy new panes locally I've asked them before and they said yes so find you a local place and I bet they'd cut it but they'll say if broken they're not responsible but those dudes do that all day I trust them.

    Old Chicken Wire Window

Ah ok, never heard of that purpose but makes sense. In cities they were used as more of a safety and security feature, for example if someone broke it glass wouldn't go flying as well as make it a little harder to get through. They are still being used in a lot of old buildings across the...

    Old Chicken Wire Window

Good afternoon, we were out of town for a wedding in Sevierville TN this past weekend and during some down time I searched marketplace locally just see if there was any old stuff around. Surprisingly there was a vtg chicken wire safety window which I collect. We got back yesterday so I started...

    Advice on Crouse Hinds

Thanks for the advice. I def have a few old porcelain sockets in the basement that I've picked over the years I just didn't know if it was that simple or if I actually had to source a certain socket for this light. Made my situation way easier, thanks again.
